Hey guys just letting you know, you can call that number over and over all day, each and EVERY rep will tell you they can NOT block specific stores in your zone, so yeah this can NOT be done.
Yeah this was changed shortly after I made the video. Sometimes they can block stores still but it's becoming more and more rare. I'll pin your comment so people know that this doesn't work anymore.
This can only be done now if the driver has a actual reason to not want to go to a certain store the customer service guy told me the only way he could block a store was if I was a victim of sexual harassment from a employee at the store
I tried this method today, and they asked me which stores do I want to block out and i gave them 2 store numbers and locations. They submitted my request, and said that I should wait 3 to 5 days to hear back. I live in Florida. I told them the truth, I simply said that those two stores are too far from my town, and that it’s hurting my acceptance rate. Thank you Justin!
Bro, I just started spark 3 days ago and you're a life saver, thank you so much. I had no idea what a Round Robin order looked like and I had no idea that one store was affecting my acceptance rate because I was declining it since it was relatively far from the other 3 I'm surrounded by
The system is defaulted to send the best paying offers to the newest drivers...so you keep working. once the system doesn't consider you "new" anymore you will see less and less good offers no matter what your metrics look like.
its annoying that I keep getting low numbers for on time arrival because the walmart employees are always so damn late due to either low staffing or inefficient method of dealing with spark orders.
Are you sitting at the store for a long time waiting for the order? If your pickup time is say 3:45 and you are still waiting for the order at 4:15 you can cancel the order for "long wait time" and then wait a few seconds and grab the order again and it will add money (usually $4-8) to the order and change the times for the drop-off. Hope that this helps!
Well typically it'll send you an offer from the store that's closest to you and then it will go to the next closest store depending on what offers are available and so on so forth
Thank you so much for this. There's a store in my area that always makes me wait and wait and wait. When I mentioned to one of the associates that the app said the order was "ready", he said "Oh yeah, ready doesn't mean it's ready." I decided then I wouldn't be going there anymore.
They mark or ready so that it doesn’t affect THEIR metrics. Basically they lie just to keep their metrics up. They don’t care if you’re waiting for however long.
@leighpearce8685 I had an order once that said "Getting Ready" and I waited and waited and waited. When I inquired about it I was told they were getting ready to start on it!!! Wth??? So I cancelled it. I was so furious. So now I basically try to only do Curbside Pickup around 8:00 am. Anything after that is a Shop & Delivery. Or Instacart
I am learning that you have to accept all the crappy orders in order for you to get multiple orders. My first mistake was canceling orders on My first day
it’s better to reject trips then to let the timer run out because better offers are being pushed out behind that. remember you are running a business if an order is not worth your time and resources don’t complete it over the long run offer pricing will drop when we reject low paying offers you may not get the order when they increase the compensation but the next driver will it’s like paying it forward
Yeah and if you accept anything they give you youre going to be carrying bottles of water packs up 3 flights of stairs in apartments all day so yeahhh good luck with that!
I spark in Houston Texas. The Zone i am assigned to got like 19 walmarts and 3 sams club. They send me orders from all of them i only do one walmart, my acceptance rate is like 20% and on a slow day, the minimum i make is $150. So i guess is harder for people that are in little towns. I dont really be worrying about my acceptance rate. I still make my $$$ regardless
That's crazy. Charlotte only has 12 stores, including 2 Sams Clubs 😂😂 But yeah, the greater the population of drivers, the tougher it is to maintain a high acceptance rate. I'm hovering between 20-30% and make around $170 when working from 7AM-9PM. Would be nice to make more being out there for that long though, but it's still good pay doing this fulltime.
An important thing you missed pointing out is that if you want to decline an offer without taking a hit on your Acceptance Rate just let the offer expire vice clicking "decline". It's very important drivers understand that so that way they are not required to accept all the orders that don't make any sense miles to pay ratio during the first 50 offers.
That doesn't keep you from getting your acceptance rate lowered. If you are shown an offer that the notification says "you have 1 new offer.. you have until __ to accept" then if you don't accept that order then you are going to get -2% on your acceptance rate.
If orders are assigned to you and you let them expire they will affect your acceptance rate. Now if its ASAP order you can let it expire without affecting your acceptance rate
@@Elprimochuma10 I work for Walmart Spark in the Customer Support department. I'm not just giving an opinion, I'M ADVISING you guys how the metrics work.
@@SaL-ep7zb nice, in the last 3 yrs i have for spark a lot of thing has been changing and speaking for my present experience. Its been a mess these past weeks. My metrics were frozen for the longest time and took a while to fix that issue. The other day i was talking to another driver he showed his metrics and they were horrible basically all red and he kept on getting the top pay orders while i was sitting in the same parking lot with 100% across my metrics and 4.9 customer service and wasnt getting anything
You are incorrect. I have never ever rejected an order, let them all time out. I have 243 competed deliveries and have learned this info is false. My rating went from in the 60s to 24 percent a few weeks ago. I let all orders time out that I didn't want on a long weekend. I worked for 3 days, and took every single order that I could, now my rate is back in the green at 64%. Also, this thing about Round Robins only counting, I am not so sure about that. Again, I have never rejected an order, always let it time out. It doesn't matter, you get dinged for it.
I was told by the Spark support, that if you just let the offer expire instead of rejecting the offer, your acceptance rate will not be affected. I had a rate in the 40's and quit rejecting offers, and now my acceptance rate is nearly 70 percent.
I call bs on what support told you. I've only declined 4 orders in the past week and my acceptance rate is now 12%! I'm going to call support like he said in the video and block the stores that are far away from my main cluster of stores and see if that helps.
You’re awesome. Thank you for your selflessness and thank you for sharing this information to all of us who want to do more for a better lifestyle for us and our families. 🙏
You’re most welcome! I’m glad I can help, even if it’s just a small number of people that I can reach. Thank you for your comment and I hope you start getting higher and higher paying offers!
I was told by support if the Round Robin offer is too far away (over 13 miles), that you first need to accept that offer, then you can drop the order without it affecting your metrics.
I don't do this alot, but I've occasionally cancelled an order that I accepted by mistake. If I cancelled very quickly, without starting the trip, I don't think it affected my cancellation rate. However,if I hit start trip, then cancelled, I got a ding.
Thank you, I see my first metric is 6% acceptance 😱. Another tip would be to not turn on the app until you are ready to roll. I made the mistake of just wanting to see what’s going on even when I was not looking to take orders.
I did the same thing. You would think they would send you a notification when your acceptance rate gets dangerously low. I called in to support to see what was up. Even asked them to check my profile because something was wrong. Never once did anyone say anything about my acceptance rate.🙄
It's fun when your last 35 deliveries where from the store closest to your house and when you arrive to do your 36th delivery and the app tells you that you're at the wrong location. So many things to look for in a short period of time like Store location, # of items, any heavy items, apartment or house, if apartment what floor, shopping or pickup, how may stops and do I know any of these people :)
Just called, didn't know I could block stores and this will hopefully be a huge help. My zone has 3 counties in it so there are 15+ stores I had to block because they're all 30+ miles from me
My acceptance rating has dropped, so this video has been so helpful. I would also like to know if rejecting offers lower your acceptance rating, or should you let it expire?
You should let it expire, but it will still count against you. You can get your Acceptance Rating back up fairly quickly by working a few days and accepting everything, no matter what. Mine went from 24% to 64% in a few days by me doing this. This is the only area that I don't stay green in, because I won't accept garbage orders.
I took 2-3 days and accepted everything. Went from 22 Percent to 54 percent quickly. Seems I am seeing offers consistently again and better paying round robins. Going to add some of these tips. I wanna see what offers I get at 80+ acceptance.
Wish there was a way to choose what types of offers you want to receive, if you can block stores why not order types? That way you can maximize your time on the road!
If this were allowed then some order types would never get delivered and that's not helpful for Walmart and the overall program. Walmart has to ensure that everybody has a chance at getting a timely delivery.
This is the metric Spark uses to punish and manipulate drivers. We are supposed to be independent contractors yet we can’t pick the orders we desire? The shop and deliver orders basically destroyed every driver in my areas acceptance rate over the holidays. Why would I take a $7-$9 round Robin when I can just wait for a shop and deliver order at $20+ to drop. I like everyone else just ignored most of the round robin curbside offers and took the better ones. Now that they have cut their order volume in my area I am struggling to rebuild my acceptance rate. It doesn’t help that the metrics are basically frozen. Mine are only updating every few days to a week and only a few trips at a time. I am taking almost every round robin order now but my AR has only slightly gone up in 6 weeks time. I would like to think this isn’t on purpose but I don’t see them doing anything to fix it. I know for a fact there are many drivers experiencing this same problem.
How much price difference are the offers on average when having a higher acceptance rate? Is it a significant change? Does it vary by state and location? Also how to increase arrival time? Every order that comes in gives you 15 min or less to be at the store. This is nearly impossible.
No store employee has ever gone back to shop for missing items. In fact they wanted me to deliver a walking cane that was obviously broken to the customer and then have the customer call support for a refund.
Oh jeeze. nah F... that. I have the associates do their job and tell them I won't accept broken items because it's going to be my metrics that are damaged.
I'm so sad 😭 called this morning and all five reps said they just updated their policy so you can only ban stores if you have safety/fear concerns. They said if they submit the tickets and I'm not afraid of those stores, the request would be rejected. There's six stores in my zone but three of them are a thirty minute drive on the interstate away from me. Not sure where to go from here.
I’m sorry that this has happened. In my most recent video I touched on this that they changed their policy. You can say an associate swore because the pickup location was super busy and the associate was stressed out. Tell them that swearing is against your religion. support should still grant the request. If you don’t want to do that you could tell them that people were driving recklessly at that store and you are afraid of getting in a car accident. I think that sounds like a valid reason as well.
Same here. It is not looking good for me in my Zone with all the Walmart stores so spread out. I want to keep driving for them, however this very issue is killing my acceptance rate.
@@JustinMaxwellbiz I tried this method today, and they asked me which stores do I want to block out and i gave them 2 store numbers and locations. Do you know why they send you offers from another store when your by a different Walmart? I thought they were supposed to send you offers to the closest Walmart near you?
Doing Spark for over 4 years, I see way better offers when My acceptance rate is low than the ones I see when It is High. when acceptance is low they send better offers so I accept more because low acceptance makes it look like Walmart is not paying fair prices. but maybe your area is different. The bigger issue is all the Illegal aliens using Bots who get to see the offers before everyone else.
I'm having an issue with all the trips I do being reported as "total trips". It's showing a far less number then I have actually done. Its making my acceptance rate show as far worse than it should be.
Recently I am having this problem as well. My metrics haven't updated in over 8 days and I'm not sure why this is. I've tried changing zones, logging out, etc. and nothing seems to fix it. I bet Spark is working on something in the background and it will be back to functioning properly soon! Thanks for sharing and let me know if your metrics update!
Can the store check you in? Sometimes my app says I'm checked in but I'm not at the store and just waiting for no reason. Some have checked me in others won't help.
Yes they can! Usually there is a number on the signs in the pickup area and you can call that number to check in. I guess a lot of drivers do this. Just tell the person on the phone that you want to make sure you are checked in and you've been having issues with checkin working.
We need a better way to track tips. How do we know that Spark is not keeping our tips? Case in point: this morning an offer came up for 2 deliveries at 9.00. I checked the addresses to see if the mileage looked correct. While I was doing that, the offer expired. But, minutes later, I got another offer for 2 deliveries for 19.00. Guess what; it was the same 2 addresses I had previously seen. So, was the first offer low because Spark was keeping the tip, or did Spark plea with the customer to add a tip? Whatever the case, it looks fishy.
It’s just not true. I have 80% AR, 100% on time arrival, 4.8 customer satisfaction and 0% drop. Drivers with 28% and 32% constantly get way better offers than me. I think they send me shit offers b/c I accept offers. Frustrating.
Ive noticed the same thing in my area. Once they started sending out multiple round robbin offers I get the lowest paying ones. They are the first offers kicked out.
I keep acceptance rate around 86-96% most of the time . I'm not convinced that higher acceptance and metrics will yield higher paying offers or priority when offers are fewer that hour. I know drivers with acceptance in 20% range that get offers in the 20-30.00 range consistently . I get lower paying offers more often than they do low dollar high mile offers . I'll get skipped regularly and they'll stay busy with really low metrics across the board. I've called support no help in understanding why this is . If I don't accept a round robin offer I may not see any offer for 2hrs where other drivers reject and receive offers right away. Pretty strange since I'm told high metrics better pay and priority to receive offers . Anyone else have these problems?
Unfortunately that's been my major complaint to driver support as well. I made it up to 96% acceptance, 0 drop rate 4.9 cust serve rate and 100% on time, and continued to receive trash orders. I complained and said the same thing, some guy who has all low number metrics gets consistent curbsides of $25-35 and shop and delivery orders of $28-55 even $60 and my numbers are outstanding, why am I not being a priority or receiving the highest paid orders? The driver support will just say, "you're right your metrics are so high, I just don't know what's happening, or "I understand your frustration", bs, bs, bs, puke! Liars. I hate being lied to. Anyway the next day I saw crap and good orders, but my round robins have been quite a bit better. $21-28 for round robins. I'm realizing it's just the way we use the app and the way that the system responds as to whether or not it will skip us during a round or just continue to send all the crap too. When accepting a round-robin that's not that good you can cancel it as quickly as possible and use that I have an emergency option. As per driver support they said because you cannot control when an emergency happens. Although I have abused it a little before and it did start to affect my drop rate. I'm sure there's a cap as to how many times you can use that excuse. Good Luck everyone.
Thanks so much for this I had no idea you could block a particular store. I have one store that is the exact reason why my acceptance rate is not good. I am going to call spark tomorrow :-). You are a wealth of good, practical information
I hope that when you called it worked out well! Let me know if they blocked that store for you! Thank you so much for your comment! I’m glad you found this information helpful!
@@JustinMaxwellbiz Hello! So the initial support person I spoke to said on their level they are no longer allowed to block stores but they send a request with all the information so the store number etc. to a different department who will block it for us. He said it takes like five days. That was actually about five days ago I haven’t heard anything yet. Does the screen look different when a store is blocked like is that particular store grayed out or something? Actually it just occurred to me I did get an offer from the store that I want blocked this past Monday so let’s see what happens today its Wednesday
So I called support to block a store and the first one hung up on me lol. Then the second person said they can't block any stores unless I've been assaulted.
@@JustinMaxwellbiz So to follow up I was told by one of the agents that if I don’t feel safe at a particular store and/or have had or known of unsafe incidents at a particular store THEN they can block said store. Soooo…I waited about a week, called back and said I didn’t feel safe at this Walmart and I know people have experienced incidents there (this is true, the latter part a way…I feel fine there 😂🤷🏻♀️) and yay, they blocked the store so I don’t have any more offers that I’m just going to keep turning down which affect my acceptance rate. Frankly I think they should allow you to block a store in a particular zone if you keep getting bad experiences there which I did on curbside pick up three times… And/or maybe for geographic purposes you’re never going to go to that store but you’re going to all the others they should allow you to block it but I’m just happy it’s not affecting my metrics anymore. Anyway thanks again for even bringing up that we could request that
That's really great information to know. Just tell them in that case that you want to block stores that are that far. Tell them it takes you over 25 minutes to get to the store and they should block the store.
I've been thinking about red X'g 2 stores that are always sending me RR's that consistently mess up orders. The people just don't seem to care, and one of the stores is also way out of my driving routine through the day.
I have a 100% acceptance rate and this other driver keeps rejecting all the curbside pickups and still gets more offers than me. Not sure how he does it, makes no sense. He gets like 2-3 offers per hour, when I only get 1 maybe 2 sometimes per hour.
Also don't reject offers that don't have a timer. It's not necessary, the ones that don't have a timer don't affect acceptance rate. I dumpsterd my ar to like 20% on the first day.
Thank you thank you I did subscribe I appreciate people like you help. Other drivers become successful. Yeah I just started that two days ago and I had pretty good orders high price orders but all sudden I got a shit order 6 1/2 miles for three order batch for $8.50, now I did take it, but I wasn’t happy about that so my question to you, is that gonna be very frequent
40-50 new orders need to be taken depending on your acceptance rate. Each one is worth 2% so that’s 80-90% depending on how much you need. You shouldn’t be less than 10%.
Are you driving a hummer? I usually get orders like those done in about an hour- 1.5 hours. My current car gets 28mpg average . But even if i went through 3 gallons in that trip that will leaves 35 for the trip. Not bad money and i would love to get 3 or 4 of those orders a day. Unfortunately, i only get one of those a day. Very rarely will i get two but those are usually my best days.
I cannot find zones that need people. I didn’t get on the app because there is no openings in my zone and they would t let me. I’d like to be at least on a wait list. This is real time. 7/18/2023
So I called to get a store taken off and they told me that he could not do it. He said he would have to block me from the whole zone, and the only way to block myself from a store was to go to the store in person and talk to the manager and tell them that the store is too far and nothing else. Just that it's too far. He specifically said ONLY say that it's too far. So I don't know? Any suggestions on what to do besides do what they said?
I still don't get what exactly a Round Robin is. My metrics are all green except AR, and it was 62% and went down to 28% in one day because I was on a shop and delivery order, and while on that order, I kept getting offers left and right. I ignored them and my rate plummeted. I assume that was a system glitch, as I didn't think you could get orders while on one. They are supposedly working on that, which I doubt. They don't seem to react to requests too well. Anyway, I was told that a Round Robin is the orders that come at the 20 minute drop and have the 45 minute arrival on them, AND have a 60 second clock on the order. Is that correct? I usually have a 3 minute clock, and often I let them time out and they will pop back up with even more time to accept. I still don't understand what Round Robins are exactly. I plan on taking all of them I get offered to get my AR back up, but I can't really identify them at this point. My orders are crap now, even with all green except AR, so I know it matters.
So even if you let the orders time out .. that counts towards your acceptance ? Not cool lol , I thought it’s only if you click the red reject offer button that it effects you
@Justin Maxwell sorry, I forgot to elaborate. I tried to call support about declining offers from certain areas in my zone. A few of the stores are close to 40 minutes away.
I called to have a store blocked that is too far away, I was told it would take 7 to 10 days. I gave them a few weeks and store still wasn't blocked. I called this morning and was told sometimes they'll deny this request if a store has too high of volume, even if it's too far away. They also said I should just accept these round Robin offers and then cancel them using the reason "other" and then they won't affect my metrics. Has anyone heard of doing this?
It seems that as long as I haven't marked 'start trip' yet, it hasn't affected my drop rate. I plan to test it out over the next few days to see if I can get my acceptance up without taking crap orders.
@@Thomas-jq2im it does work. My drop rate was not affected! I accept, then cancel immediately. For awhile, it seemed like the better offers came on the second or third try. Like I might turn down $14 for 2 deliveries 8 miles, and the next offer might be $22 for 1 delivery 2.7 miles. My acceptance rate went from 22 percent to 44 percent in a couple of days. It would have been higher, but I was afraid of to cancel everything I didn't want and I let a few just expire. I got over 50 percent acceptance rate quickly, and my orders were significantly better. Everything was $20-$30+ I messed up my acceptance rate 2 days ago when they were changing to the new version of the app. I didn't know which were round robins. But with the updated app, it looks like maybe only the round robins have a timer now? Still figuring that out.
Hi i have tried this and I’m still getting orders from a Walmart that is 30miles from me and it’s so frustrating be causing I’m green in all other areas except acceptance rate I’m at a 28%….. it’s annoying because i call almost 3 times a week and i still get Offers from the store that’s 30miles from me they rep stated she will put the information in and if i still get Orders after 5 days that means they declined blocking that store …. Smh hopefully i can get orders todays i haven’t received offers in 2 days the only offers i we’re receiving were return orders 25miles away i kindly let those orders expire… this is so unfortunate i normally make 1500 a week easy this week i only made 575.00 no orders Thursday or Friday Today is Saturday so let see what happens … smh ….
I just banned stores that are out of my way it was geeting looked like bad orders out of my range. It looked like the same order. It was hurting me. I have 4 walmarts i go to. Thats all i need.
I'm new to Spark. When I'm through delivering a order and pulling away from their house I start getting orders while I'm in the middle of driving. I can't just stop in the middle of the road and sometimes theirs not a good place to pull over. So from my understanding it affects my rating. What's the trick to this? I wish there was a pause button like Uber Eats.
I have accepted every single job. I've never rejected anything. I am rejected one Today at $7 to do 4 stops prior I have accepted all of those today was the first time. I said no, and it put it right back in my face. And that's all they gave me was $7 orders. I have done nothing but work my ass off and take every single goddam order
Great video Justin. New to your channel. Question: I submitted my spark driver app over a week ago and have not received any follow up email. Is this typical?
Yeah did this a few months ago. Sad thing is here in Kalamazoo Michigan those first come offers still affect metrics even though they not supposed to. That's all I see I can't even see my red robin offers because of all the surge price and first come offers. Especially when there like 15-20 offers sent at once. They really need to work on this app.
Oh wow the other offers shouldn't be affecting your metrics. The round robin orders always have a 1 minute timer if that helps. I know the app sucks when there are tons of orders showing up and the app is refreshing and it's impossible to click on an order to accept.
@Storytime with Mamabear just couple weeks ago I got on the app to check see if any good orders, since haven't done in a while. I didn't get any round robin offers but other offers popped up (FCFS). I didn't accept and my acceptance rate still went down. So just a heads up, because when it was bad snow days it messed up my rate. To many offers coming through at once.
I hate those batch orders with 10 stops and 38 miles and total pay just happens to match the miles. Yeah right Walmart. Ain't nobody taking those stupid orders with no tips. Why send that many stops in one order with not 1 tip? They think we suppose to work for free. I can't stand doing Spark deliveries. Too many crappy low paying orders for high miles.
I called months ago and gave them stores to drop and nothing ever happened. Thought I'd try again today and was told they can't do that. I'll try again.
Accepting rate is not a such thing for spark anymore lol 😂 but what I do see is they be looking at the drop rate and On time arrival part for some reason I have great metrics for both one of my spark driver buddies have awful OA and drop rate and they barely get any good orders
You are freaking awesome!! Thank you so much for these tips!! Do you have any inside about first come first serve orders? Does phone service or phone type matter? It seems I barley have time to see the order, it's literally gone in a flash. I know they are good paying orders because that's about all I get to see for the split second it's on my screen?
I appreciate it!! And you are welcome! Thanks for watching and asking questions :) First come first serve orders are normal round robin orders that were not accepted by drivers. After a round robin order (the ones that say you have 1 new offer) is not accepted, it is then sent out to all drivers in the area. Regarding phones/carrier- I think that iPhone works better in my experience using android for over a year and then switching to an iPhone 2 months ago. I was using google fi before and hated having so many dead zones and with verizon it's so much better. With an iPhone the app is more stable and has less glitches and the accepting offers screen doesn't do that crazy jumping all over and refreshing nonsense.
Bro! Spark doesn't count any of the round robin trips I take lately. And it's been weeks since they counted them. I make sure not to let anything effect my metrics. I even take the shit orders just in case it hurts me. And nothing, unless it's something negative like a customer rating. That's it....
Spark doesn't allow you to block certain stores. I tried a few times when I was getting offers 30 mins away. They don't care because they say, "it's in your zone."
Question. What happens if you get more than 1 “you have a new offer” offer? If that make sense. You obviously can only accept one. Will accepting one still help acceptance rate? I’m really working hard on my acceptance rate but kinda lost.
I've wondered this as well. Sometimes I get several as I'm driving and my phone is going off like a firecracker. Am I suppose to know and pick the first one that came in?? That's crazy.
I agree with Justin on drivers with a higher the acceptance rate receiving better orders but unless a driver excepts everything it’ll never work. Gig apps are consistently hiring new drivers and they are given priority. New drivers usually take most offers until they realize what it’s costing them (gas, wear & tear on their body and car & maintenance). Every app I’ve worked for starts off great but shortly after mileage increases, fares become less or there aren’t enough orders. I’ve worked gig apps for about five years and have made money so I’m not a hater but enjoy it while it last.
I'm going to try having a 'sacrifice' time, either one day a week or maybe one or two trips a day where I take more offers that are okay, but awesome to increase the acceptance rate, then maybe have better offers to choose from or free to choose fcfs and asap orders for the money.
I find it so hard to believe the acceptance rate matters because myself and another driver have had like... Single digit acceptance rates... And got batches all day long for a week. Then the next week, the acceptance rate doesn't go up, and he will get nothing, I'll get everything... And then the week after? Vice versa. I've even been told by US stateside English speaking tech support that acceptance rate doesn't matter...
Round robin orders go so fast I don’t even get a chance to look at the offer. I can be on the spark app, here an see a round robin come through and before I can click on it, it’s already gone. Literally happens every time.
