2018 grill doesn't come off that easy as it has the active grill shutter right behind

si with all those little boxes inside the low beam area...........every bump you hit the front end sounds like a bay rattle???

+bryman31 With all the wiring, the Anti-Flicker Modules and drivers, it was a fairly tight fit inside the housing, so there was little room for anything to move. You could also mount the modules and drivers to ensure they won't move.

Question: will these work on a 2017 Ram 1500 Big Horn? I had an LED upgrade done, with the anti flicker ballasts, however my TIPM kept spiking so I had to add resistors which I installed myself. Now I don’t seem to have any issues, but I’d like to have a cleaner system. Have you had anyone mention TIPM issues?

Hey Nancie! With our Anti-Flicker Modules, which were designed off of the Ram CAN-Bus electrical system specifically, you will not experience those types of issues. I've seen other videos where the shroud and grill are left on. They just use an extender to remove the 10 mm bolts and do all the work from the rear access point in the wheel well. Is it really necessary to remove the shroud and grill?

Hey John - this is the best way that we have seen through our testing. There might be other ways, however not that we are aware.

I see it's for a 09 to 18 ram. But will this work for a 2015 ram 2500? I tried to put an led with resistors but it didnt work. I'm currently looking for a system that will work. Please let me know.

Hi there! The SL1 Headlight LED Bulb is compatible with your '15 Ram 2500! However, due to the sensitive CANBUS system Dodge uses, we would recommend adding our Anti-Flicker modules (shown in the bulb listings) to prevent "bulb-out" warnings. My 2014 Ram 1500 has the DRL turned on as the low beams at half power. How will this affect the function of the LEDs? I would love to have the DRL changed to the park lights but the dealer I went to could not do that so I said low beams at half power were fine. I really don't want to have to go back to them and have them turned off, but if it will damage the LEDs if I chose this option, that may have to happen. Thanks in advance.

Hi Kyle! These bulbs will remain at full power anytime they are activated. They are designed for years of reliable performance, and won't be affected by use as a DRL!

I have I fixed led bulbs to my 2012 Ram without using the anti flicker and start getting power issue with my car , some times not starting , I removed the led bulbs back to orginal but still having same problem , do you think the led bulbs without the anti flicker damaged something in my car ?

Do you need anti flicker module for fog lights as well? And do you need if you dont change your high beams?

Hi Jose! You will need an anti-flicker module for both the fogs and the low beams to trick the Ram's CANBUS system.

i added led fog lights and high beams to my 2016 ram but the chips on them face up and down is this normal

That could certainly be normal. The bulb will just twist in, and whichever way the bulb is in that orientation will be correct.

What about the bulb orientation in that reflector housing? Is it clockable to adjust it to where the LEDs are facing to the side?

Hey Jim! Thanks for reaching out. The SL1 is designed to be properly positioned once it's locked into the housing. There is no additional adjustment needed!

I just installed some Shenkenuo LEDs in my 2012 ram 1500 with reflector frames and I cannot seem to face the LEDs at 9 and 3 o'clock as there is no way to adjust the locknuts. Should I go for a different LED? Or is there anything else I can do to fix this? Thanks!

Some bulbs, like our Diode Dynamics SL1 have adjustable collars for this reason. Unfortunatley, those Shenkenuo bulbs aren't ours, so we don't know if they have them as well. Sorry about that!

Hi, just purchased the sl1 lowbeams for my 2013 ram with reflectors, im waiting for them to arrive in the mail. Im curious how the DRL function with the sl1 led, do they switch to a dimmer brightness during the day? Or are they the same as night time function?

Hey Andrew - with the SL1, it will remain at full brightness at all times, as there is no way to differentiate between the high and low power like a stock bulb does.

The SL1 will remain at full brightness in any DRL situations.

Which way does the LED chips suppose to be facing for the high beam? Left to right or up and down?

you dont need to shove extra stuff in the housing like the anti flicker module. just buy a wifi obd2 tool off amazon, download alphaobd free app on your phone, connect and program ram truck to accept led bulbs. done. no flickers

I have ram projector headlights. Doing hid on projector (low beam) and led on high beam. How are these leds on high beam? The low beam in the reflector housing in the video had great beam pattern.

+loganharpdawg Generally, HIDs perform better in a projector housing. However, with more raw output and better lumen maintenance, the SL1 will be an upgrade in projectors too. They won't provide as much output as an HID, but they also won't add glare, and they're instant on, with a much greater lifespan and simpler installation. For projectors, it's still a choice between the two, but we prefer the LED! More modern, simple, and reliable.

Diode Dynamics * thanks for the reply. I’ll consider these leds for the projector. But, how are they in a reflector housing meant for high beam only? The ram has the projector low/high beam and the reflector high beam lights. I love the fact u guys took time to figure out led placement vs filament placement. About time someone making led bulbs did this. I am confident your LEDs are great in low beam reflectors, but was mainly wondering about high beam reflectors. And by the way, a video showing these leds in a projector would help convince me to purchase these for my projector lights. I am not looking forward to installing HIDs but will do it for the performance. If these leds are close to HIDs you’ll save me a lot of time by convincing me to purchase these leds instead of the HIDs projector bulbs.

This is still a great option for those who do not want to hassle with a full projector retrofit, as that is beyond the skill level of the vast majority of people. The cutoff line that you are referencing is still very refined, and will not cause any glare at all.
