How To Install A Power Handle On A Quantum Accurist Baitcasting Reel | J&H Tackle 

Bought 2 last year. There a great handle for the money and the reel feels so much better. I highly recommend these if you fish the reel!

The handle worked for me, but the stock screw was too narrow for the power handle hole. Several parts came with the power handle and I ended up using the screw and the bolt keeper that came with the handle itself. The screw head that came with the handle was too wide to fit in the stock bolt keeper so I had to use the one they sent with it. Works, but it doesn't look like the one in the video now. No big deal, just an FYI.

Bought and installed the handle, a definite upgrade and a good price. Glad to see they posted a video on how to install. I can say it was much easier hauling up big fluke and seabass on my recent Nantucket shoals trip.

I have tried at least six different aftermarket power handles on my Abu Garcia Ambassadeurs. Technically they do fit. Problem is Abu Garcia's main shaft will only accept any handle that is not greater than 3 mm thickness. Most of the ones out there like Gomexus are too thick. Because they are 4 mm thickness which leaves you where you only have enough main shaft thread to put the nut on half way down. Which makes it difficult to add the c-clip after tightening the nut. On some other handles because of the thickness you can't even get the nut to start threading. So I am forced to wait for Abu Garcia to have their power handles available in the fall. The current Abu Garcia power handles that are out there are flat handles and won't work very well with a bent handle real. It does work but you lose the ergonomic benefits of the bent handle design.

What is the shaft measurement for Quantum reels? Are they 8x5 or 7x4?

I bought 2 a few years ago, they work great. One issue I noticed was the large center screw was backing out of the knob. Not sure if it was due to me cranking from right hand side? Left hand retrieve would probably not be affected by rotation. Anyhow I applied some lock-tite on the screw and all good.
