This is so cool,ive had dumps on my 91 for about 23 years, here recently i decided to put a brand new complete exhaust in my car and get rid of the dumps,while installing my back pipes i realized "why are my fuel lines so close to my exhaust?" thats when i realized i had dropped my tank like 10 years ago and i did not route them under the strap properly and this video confirms that, since i had dumps it didn't matter where the fuel lines were (at the time) but they sure do now,lol. ill be doing this tomorrow, put a board under the tank with my trusty aluminum jack and just loosen the one strap and put the lines under it, thank you for confirming where i suspected those lines needed to go, great video,something of a tip is before dropping the tank get a steam cleaner or take the car to the car wash if possible and give it a good hose down in the entire area you'll be working on, it helps a lot with cleanliness.

free tip, that looks like a spectra brand tank or the ones you will typically get most places like lmr. i got one about a year ago and yes very poor edges and very sharp and no hole for the strap. later when i needed a tank for my other fox, i gave a summit brand a try and tons better. no sharp edges, powdercoated, and has the hole for the strap. i would highly recommend the summit one over the others, and it was actually cheaper

Replaced that same stuff a couple of years ago. It’s not fun on your back in a driveway. Thankfully I wasn’t YouTubing then because I ran into a different size fitting on the fuel pump. Had to engineer a fix. Thanks for including some of those details like hose routing and clip removal/install.

I just went through this same exact situation about a month ago. Had to have a new tank, fuel pump, fuel filter and sending unit. Plus I had the rear end oil replaced as well. It was really bad also. Great video by the way

@@peteartussee1202 I have 3.73 in my vert but I also have a 6 speed transmission. 3.55 are in my SSP. I didn't like the 3.73 on the hwy with the 5 speed. Just my opinion though

My fuel tank had a predrilled grounding strap hole.Would it be a good idea to run your own grounding strap, especially with a high power pump? It also came with the insulating pads making it a PIA to put back up. Realizing you are not keeping the car, I Always clean dirty parts before replacing. Sometimes clean and paint. People looking at my 1993 triple white feature car comment on how clean it looks.

Not sure on the grounding strap. If I get a chance i'll follow up with Matt on it. As we need to do the fuel pump in my notch, I know for sure we'll get to this eventually. I'll be cleaning my SSP a bit more when I do it since i'm keeping it.

I know this is a old comment but just wanted to say,most of these cars had a little metal support bracket that went from the tank to the filler neck,its round and it has a "leg" that has a hole,you slide the round part into the filler neck as you slide it into the tank making it "captive" and the leg that has the hole is positioned next to that hole in your tank and a screw goes in there securing the little bracket, thats what the hole is normally for,not a ground strap. When i installed my new tank eons ago my tank did not come with that hole even though it was a premium tank out of Canada, once i realized what was going on, it was already installed and i didn't want to be drilling and tapping anywhere near the tank so i just left that bracket off,been fine without it, besides that little hole on both my 91 and my 89 for the bracket there is no other hole or ground strap anywhere near the tank,congrats on the white feature car,a buddy of mine had one,beautiful cars and very unique.
