In this video we look at how to install the Audi Beam / Puddle Lights. This will benefit anyone who has selected them as an optional extra or is customising their Audi A3.
On the 2020 and 2021 Audi A3 it is difficult to swap the back door light, this video will show you how to do it in seconds!!!

@@rbrjm34 thanks bud, no coding required. I'd suggest staying genuine as copy ones are either too big or don't last as long. Best thing is to search on eBay for genuine Audi puddle lights, you'll save a lot over RRP

Got to say, this is the best instruction video I've seen for this on the A3. Just did the front doors with a small screwdriver and it all went down in 5 minutes. I do recommend the original Audi ones, the light is much brighter than the standard lights and the logo is crispy sharp.

Many thanks for producing this guide. I bought some replacement puddle lights for the rear doors and when I removed the original light, the cable was so short I did know how to plug it into the replacement light. Watched your video and then 10 minutes later both rear door lights fitted. Thank you so much, I couldn't have done it without your guide.

Best video on this, clear demo and instructions, I was nervous fitting mine to an A7 as the wires are really short like shown on the back door here so this gave me the reassurance to carry on without removing the door card which would have been a nightmare.

The rear puddle lights the wire is really short, but i noticed the red plastic on the door when its removed you can clearly see inside the wire for the puddle lights and there is plenty of slack on it, slowly pulling the wire towards you makes this very easy

Great video. Loving the uploads. Are the additional puddle lights only supplied with the edition 1? I have an s line on order and was wondering if they came with that or if it was an optional add on.

Thanks for watching bud, hope you've subbed for more upcoming content :) I think the Audi rings are standard on the edition1 but on the sline you should get plane ones for the front. You'll need to add ambient lighting pack if you want the lighting on the rear doors too. You can probably get the lights from the dealer if you've already ordered as they are accessories that they usually stock. They are pretty expensive though £120 for a set, if you can hold on a few weeks I'll be showing what cheaper alternatives you can get hold of :)

Hey, loving the content from you both👍🏼 So after watching your delivery A3 video and only viewing the car online really I decided to order. I’ve gone for the s line with comfort and sound package and ambient lighting. Should hopefully get mine in May. Question.. Would that come with the Audi ring lights in the front doors do you think or is that something I will need to fit myself after? Also can you let me know the model number from the ones you bought in case I do want to get some? Thanks

Hey buddy, thanks for watching and commenting - hope you've subscribed for the future content too (make sure to turn on the notification bell) So the good thing is because you've chosen the ambient lighting you will get the puddle lights in the back too. Unfortunately the logo lights are not standard on the sline and you have to add them at the time of order. You can probably still get them from the Audi dealer, but at £120 they are pretty expensive. They are usually on eBay - genuine lights for a bit less. Alternatively there are much cheaper options which hopefully I'll be reviewing in a few weeks so it will give you a good idea of which you prefer

Another good video mate. Quick question. Which fuel would you recommend using? I have ordered the same model from Audi. I mentioned it was a due to go into production on 19th Feb on another video you did. Do you put regular unleaded in or the Super unleaded?

Hi Adam, Thanks! I tend to use regular on this as it meets the minimum spec on the reverse of the petrol cap. I only tend to go super unleaded in my performance car due to the higher octane rating

Hey buddy, another great video. My A3 edition 1 is being built on 22 nd February and I can’t wait. I thought the Audi rings on the front doors were a spec'd option? You’re saying that they are in the glove box or boot?

Thanks CA. Yep mine were pre fitted as standard which should be the case on the edition 1. But a lot of edition1 owners have just found the lights inside the retail packaging inside their car when they get it. Really strange that all Edition1 cars do not have them pre fitted. Maybe I was lucky and my dealer already fitted them in for me. Either way the edition1 will come with Audi rings for the front, and plain lights in the back :) It's buried in the standard spec: "*Audi beam* Standard Contained in configuration Uses LEDs to project the Audi logo onto the ground as you exit your car"

Thanks bud. If you've got standard lights already it should be a straight swap as I doubt Audi would make individual lights for each model. Worth checking with Audi though just in case they have done something strange lol.

Thanks Sam - the supportive comments really make the time spent worthwhile 👍🏽 The car is quick enough around town but don't expect much past 80 lol. Plus speed is subjective so it depends what you're used to. I'm terms of the interior, I love it a lot of reviews are harsh on the plastics but I couldn't care less it's gorgeous, angular and has crisp displays all of which I would expect in a modern car.

Great video as usually buddy, I was only thinking last week that my new (old) A3 could do with a set of Audi rings for the front door. Wasn't sure where to source them from as some dodgy sites offering them and like you said not cheap, so would probably want an Audi approved set. Will hang for your promised update on how to get these Auzzam OK ?

thanks StevieBoy - I'm currently getting some made up from a facebook group, when they arrive I will be comparing them against the standard audi lights and should be in a good position to judge the quality difference. I do think Audi are having a laugh charging £120 for a set, its no where near that fancy (I pulled a set apart and it literally is just an LED bulb).

You show the installation of the rings ones in another video. Are they the original ones, and did they just give i away? The price for 2 lights (rings) are 117 punds. I wonder what the price is like in the UK?

Which is a lot for the lights. I personally would never pay that much for them, always cheaper to get genuine used ones from eBay 😎

Thanks for the informative video! I just tried to install mine, and on the passenger door, only the see-through plastic thing came out, but the actual wiring box (the one in black plastic) is still stuck inside, and I can't push the see-through plastic thing back... Any ideas?

Sorry bud, unfortunately if it's very short that you can't get to it by laying on the ground and poking a screw driver in. I think it may be a door card off job.

Are the others working? If not most likely a fuse somewhere. If its just the one light not working I would put the original light back in to see if it works, That will help identify whether the problem is in the light or the wiring / connector

Hope you've subscribed for more content and to help us grow the channel together :) Yes the Audi logo is standard on the edition 1 along with the plain rear puddle light. If you're not buying an edition 1 e.g an s-line then you only get the plain lights on the front and no lights in the back. If you want lights on the back door with an s-line you will need to add the ambient lighting pack

There are five OE part numbers (they fit all the 2011 and newer cars):- 4G0052133G = Four Rings logo 4G0052133H = Quattro (word) 4G0052133J = S// logo 4G0052133K = Four Rings & Gecko logo 4G0052133L = e-Tron (word) Anything thing else is 3rd party or fake.

Lol I know, I was shocked to see it included on my car, I did not add it to the configurator as I did not want it. Did you go for an Edition1?

@@CRD90 Nope, I took standard with additional comfort and design packs (I think it's not available in the UK), and some other options.

@@Mescherje I always laugh with my wife that the logo is there just in case you forget what car you're driving 😂 - I can understand customizing a logo that would be cool

@@CRD90 Well, more like to show the others "hey look, poor people, I'm driving Audi". I could understand if it was Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini etc. But Audi? Come on... :) But yeah, custom drawing would be nice :-)
