I dragged the first ac up the ladder like you. But this time I used our backhoe to lift and remove the old and new one. Worked real easy.

Nice job. The only thing I woulda done differrnt is, I would have tested the unit before placing the inside cover on.

I installed a front unit on my Outback 280URB this past weekend. It was a simple as can be. I saved myself over $1000 by doing it myself. Don't do like this guy did, pull the vinyl tubing down peel the tape and stick it down fully extended. then take a sharp knife and cut off the excess. You don't need to fuss with the heat tape either, because the air is not vented into that area. Once the cover is on it is sealed off. otherwise he did fine. Oh, kill the power before you pull down the cord and check with a meter to make sure there is no power.

Just to be clear, the only seal on the roof side is the foam that comes with unit? Mine is a 2016 & I was in the roof yesterday checking all sealant around openings. Should the factory seal be sufficient over time? It should I add something?
