It’s actually quite funny when you see these things side by side. Great video, I’m looking forward to giving it a try!

Right?!?! 😊 It was (also) much harder to edit than my other videos James, but I think it was well worth it since it helped make the point come across clearer. Glad you found it useful. Now tell me....when do you find your shoulders coming up during the day? 😏

OMG! Watching this helped me realize that I do so many of these things! No wonder I always feel so tight and tense, slumped over almost as though life is pushing me forward. Thank you so much!

So happy to hear you found this video helpful Boris! ☺️ I’m sure if we all stopped long enough many of us would notice things we do that hold excess tension and stress in our bodies. The awareness of such things is a great first step! Keep it up! 👍🏻

Thanks for these videos - these are some great examples! I'm really struggling with a much more complicated activity though - I started taking violin lessons a few years ago and I cannot stop my shoulders sneaking up and tensing (it's really affecting my sound since you have to be totally relaxed to get a good sound out of the violin). I find that since it's such a complicated instrument to learn, I can't stay focused too long on the shoulders when I've got so many other things to think about! It's also hard to keep them down when you do have to raise your arms and on certain parts of the bow you do have to move/engage your right shoulder for example (but not raise it). It's driving me nuts! Any advice would be appreciated!

Can't believe I missed this comment of yours here Hajera! I will definitely need to make a video for you so that I can address this. Many folks struggle with playing the violin free of excess tension-and I'm sure we can all relate to losing track of where our shoulders are and then-before we know it-they end up by our ears. 😂 I will add this topic to my queue of videos to make. Thanks for your comment, subscribing to my channel, and being interested in letting go of tension (I'm sure your body appreciates it!). More soon for you on this topic. 😊
