To Lime: I hope your parents don't feel inferior to their samdhis due to their superior caste and financial position. Often, parents from a vernacular background do take these things seriously. Their own inferiority complex may worsen matters. A girl and a boy who have been educated in similar schools, and who met socially and fell in love, may have no idea of the embedded social dynamics of the previous generations, esp with modest vernacular backgrounds.

I think lemon is insecure thinking she put on someone else's shoe and some other girl will also do the same. Since the boy and she got into the relationship way before the boy had a clear break up; this is what threatening lemon more. Trust issue is there definitely. But another important thing is; why did the boy lie ? Is it his habit ? If this has happened several times lemon should place all the situations one after another and scrutinise them thoroughly. If those are harmless lies and has nothing to do with their relationship or her ; then still it's forgivable! And she should also know why his previous relationship didn't last. He even didn't bother to take time to heal. Just jumps into another relation while his ex was totally not over him.clearly it was not a mutual breakup. Wasn't it too long to get over ? Or the guy just forgot all his feelings in a moment and start another one! Dig deeper girl... before taking any decision think more try to get the truth without being biased ! PS: entirely personal opinion. I may be wrong!

Lime ; dear; i think ur husband should step up and make a statement here. He has toxic parents who don't have respect for others. They simply don't have the right to insult others . It's not about u or ur parents only. Ir husband should have a serious discussion with them. This can't go long. It will further complicate ur relationship with ur husband. Further more ; ( don't know if u have kids or planning to get any time sooner or not ) it will badly effect ur kids. Either they will hate their paternal grandparents or will learn to insult maternal grandparents. Both ways; it will not end up Nicely!
