Hello Natasha, Thank you very much for this extensive video - I learned a lot. I do only know Spain as a tourist; Spanish was not offered during the time I went to school - instead, I suffered from Latin (mandatory) and learned French and Italian. Spaniards are very friendly people but as I hardly understood anything, the country wasn´t that interesting for me. Spain isn´t quite a neighbour of Austria and (at least back then), Spanish was not taught everywhere and a few years later on, when I studied chemistry, I lacked the mental ressources to learn different skills. Besides, I neither knew that I wanted to leave my country at that time nor where I wanted to go and which language I needed. I only know Benidorm as a major hub for mass tourism with lots of medium-sized skyscrapers along the coast. Spain is the ideal location to learn Spanish in a very secure environment before even thinking of places like Colombia, especially when you are located in Central Europe. Both Spain and Austria are EU-members and it´s near enough to visit short-term. I don´t think there is a chance to get a job if you don´t speak Spanish. In Europe, studying is not a financial threat like in the US. Fees are marginal. After graduating, I was exhausted and did some different work. I was just recently accepted at technical college (for a second master in Biotech), when Co*** hit just before important group assignings could take place. I´m also stuck at home and have become something like a „rogue senior student“. I tend to write (too) much, as this is my way of processing issues. I will need a good preparation for not ending up in Ciudad Bolivar or as an ELN-hostage With kind regards, Mathias
@NatashaIbrahim
@NatashaIbrahim 4 года назад
Hey Mathias, Spain is incredible, but I can see how it would be a different experience if you don’t know the language. Latin sounds like a drag to learn but very impressive that you learned all those languages and German and English! Spain is a lot more secure than parts of Latin American, and very close to Austria! I think you may be able to get a job in Barcelona without knowing Spanish but it would be a bit more difficult. Also your studies are Very impressive, I didn’t know you studied all of that. I think you’ll be fine if you go to Colombia! Have a great day, Natasha

I’m planning on doing the auxiliar program in 2 years. But I’m a suuuuper big introvert and I would prefer to live in Madrid and have no roommates, but I know this is going to be expensive. If I did have roommates, I would prefer them not to expect me to hang out with them that often and leave me to stay in my room/explore around by myself, haha 😅
@NatashaIbrahim
@NatashaIbrahim 4 года назад
That's awesome! You could possibly live alone in Madrid, it will just be more expensive and harder to find an apartment, I suggest you start finding a second source of income now, possibly a way you could earn money online or something so you can afford the rent. I'm sure if you let people know you are an introvert they would respect that! One of my roommates was an introvert and I barely ever saw her but we got along fine! Thanks for all your videos. Planning on applying for the auxiliar program in Madrid for 2021-2022. Do you think if I come with a few grand in savings and make money outside of the program I could live comfortably in a 1 bedroom around €500-€600? I know Madrid pays €1000 a month.
@NatashaIbrahim
@NatashaIbrahim 4 года назад
You’re welcome! That’s awesome, Madrid is my favorite! I think that should be fine! But be mindful Madrid is more expensive than Benidorm. I paid €600/month for a two bedroom with a roommate in malasaña which is a bit more expensive than other areas but I would say expect to pay a bit more than €500-€600 for a one bedroom. I would HIGHLY suggest getting a roommate though, I almost got a one bedroom and I’m sooo glad I didn’t. There are a lot of hidden costs with moving and unexpected fees you’ll have to pay so be prepared for that. Unless you can earn an extra few hundred more euros a month i wouldn’t live alone

@NatashaIbrahim
@NatashaIbrahim 4 года назад
My student loan payments didn't start until January of the following year! I also graduated with not much debt and low monthly payments so I just didn't pay my loans until July, when I returned to the US. I also think that if you talk to your loan distributor you might be able to defer payments for a year since technically you are volunteering and on "scholarship". ALSO my student loan payments are currently deferred because of Covid, so you might not even have to pay them! I did go to a gym! I completely forgot to mention that. I got a deal that came out to about 20 euros a month and my gym was amazing with great classes! When I lived in Madrid I also paid ~20euros for my membership. I hope this helped! and if you haven't subscribed I would LOVE if you did! You are not reading this by chance, you are deeply loved by God, He wants to bring you peace and healing, He doesn’t want you to perish but to have eternal life, through believing in His son Jesus Christ that He sent to die for your sins on the cross and to repent❤️❤️
