Type 2 Diabetic ... Firm believer in doing exercise I just started a few weeks ago following your advice and my numbers have drastically come down.... I was at 12 14 on average fasting about 9 10 *Canadian* Now I am averaging with fast between meals about 6 hours 6 to 7 after meals about the same many times ... What was hard for me with my numbers dropping was shaking because my body has been so use to high levels but its getting easier to handle ... I am noticing I am losing a bit of weight in only a few weeks I always do my evening walk and my sugar level drops 2 points afterwards walking trails!!! You have to have willpower! with your eating and exercising and I am not a big eater like I use to be thankfully THANK Doc

My intermittent fasting is 12/12 with an occasional 18/6. Maybe once or twice a month 24 hour period. Walk every day at least an hour. Most walks are 15 to 20 minutes at a time. I spend a lot of time driving. I have found if there is food inside the vehicle, within arms length, I will nosh. Now, I do not eat while driving. If I get hungry, and its in my eating window, I pull over and eat. Not snack, eat. I keep sardines and sliced ripe olives with a small bottle of good EVOO. I eat the sardines covered with ripe olives and drenched in EVOO. That is my fast food. I also get packaged pickles. Has a single pickle in a package. Thanks again for your continued advice. It has changed my view toward my condition. And allowed me freedom through knowledge to live a normal life. Inshallah
For me loosing weight was easy. Cut my carb intake no to sugary food and exercise my weight from 64kg down to 52kg in 6months. I am not taking any diabetic medication from day one. Diet and exercise control my sugar level. Thank you Dr for all your information. Keep going. God Bless
Dr. Ahmet, our wives or husbands definitely can help with their support. Will power DOES work if you have enough of it. I am a type 1 for 45 years. Have lost 22 lbs. in 2 months on Keto. Another 20 to go (6' 203 now). In my opinion, People need to rely on themselves first. Be strong. Be tough. Make a commitment to weight loss. Find what works and DO IT. I have found that Keto (and/or will power) has killed my appetite to the point I am having 1 or 2 meals a day and no snacks. Intermittent fasting works. I do ride my exercise bike half an hour every other day. Keto is a complicated diet but it works if you do it right. I will be having my comprehensive blood tests in August and will talk with my regular doctor and endocrinologist then. Hopefully, my diet will have reached my goals at that time. Blood sugar results are phenomenal on Keto. Went from 8.1 to 6.4 A1C so far.
Dr Ergin can you please discuss the gall bladder. I know a few people that have had their gall bladder removed and they are still dealing with stomach problems.
I love to eat but I want an ideal body. After watching this video I tried to implement and the results are amazing. I managed to get an ideal body. Thank you for all the information
Without Intermittent Fasting / Skipping / Running its impossible for a diabetic to loose weight. Sir you know because of you i stopped eating sulfonylureas and only taking metformin 1000 sr 1 tabs before lunch after my Intermittent fasting. Then before dinner metformin 500mg + tenligliptin 20mg 1 tab. And i am more into Skipping cycling and running and trying my best to eat less carb only.
I have discovered a rebounder/mini trampoline. My feet never leave the mat, yet, and I feel much better. That's called a Health Bounce by some. Lots of videos here on youtube.
McDonald's? Not even close to health choices. Best restaurant, is your kitchen. Home cooked meal. I spent Sundays afternoon prep veggies by washing, dry, cut and properly store them on glasses containers. Bake tofu for lunch salads. Alternate tofu with tuna, sardines, mackarel. Salmon for dinner. Not difficult at all. Last meal 7:30 pm. Coffee early morning and lunch at 3 pm. Plain water, acv water, 🍋water. Tea is good but races my heart a bit, caffeine. Trying super hard to exercise but too busy or lazy. 😆
What’s really the difference between fast food and going to a restaurant..it’s making good choices..thinking before you order, asking yourself is this good for me..you have to condition yourself to make good choices..🇺🇸
To continue my previous post, I would like to see a video on Keto maintenance. After I hit my goals, do I go back to carbs or continue Keto? The benefits to Keto seem to suggest keeping it as part of my lifestyle but I can't keep losing weight once I hit my goal.

Living many years as a type II diabetic, and my medications have been going up, year by year. Started Intermittent Fasting 2 years ago (8pm ~12pm Fasting everyday). Initially, my A1c dropped to 6.9. Though I am still continuing with the Fasting, my A1c was 8.4 about 4 months ago, and the result today is 8.6, even though my doctor had increased my meds since the last consultation. My doctor wants me to consider changing my Glipizide to Empagliflozin. Worry might cause UTI. Kindly advice?
The medications make your glucose sensitivity worse. That’s why they keep increasing all of your meds. There’s studies saying that they make you worse over time. There are many natural things that help lower blood sugar. Black seed oil for example has been studied and it helps lower blood sugar like metformin. See if you can start taking natural things while monitoring yourself. Your goals should include getter better enough to completey ditch the prescriptions. Be honest about your diet and get super strict, fast even longer if you can. Also look into fixing your gut biome. It can be highly beneficial and help you get healthier. I’m going to assume your gut flora is completely destroyed because you’ve been on tons of meds for years. Watch some vids about it . Fixing your gut health may make the difference in you being able to get control.
