Great tips! Thanks for your time and effort. And one small tip from me (I like photo-videography). As your electrical power frequency is 50Hz (I believe you live in Australia), so use the shutter speed of 1/50 sec or 1/50*x (where x can be anything from 1, 2, 3, 4 and to whatever, as a multiplier ), and as 1/50 is your basic shutter speed, then for best quality 25 frames per second in settings is what you need. This will reduce light flickering in your videos and squeeze the best video quality out of your camera.

Hey Sandro, thanks so much for providing such a high level of free detailing education on your channel. It must be hard enough to be a pro detailer just on its own, but you also spend extra time planning, writing, shooting, and editing your videos for us, which must take HOURS. You don't have to this for us, but you do, AND you do it in such a consistently impressive and learned manner. My hat is off to you, sir!

This is the best video for this subject matter I've come across. And I've been researching this on RU-vid for years. Thank you so much for this video. Sometimes it can be frustrating doing paint correction, and going back to the basics and having good discipline seems to always prevail. This has been a helpful refresher course for me. Thanks!

The blending tip you gave is a real gem and this vid is even great for intermediates. When I moved into intermediate territory, one of my main gripes was I could get a section spot on, but always had to re-do certain small connecting areas where it hadn't blended properly. Wish I'd seen this vid years ago! Going to use this to help me improve.

Thank you for an excellent video. I have the menzerna medium cut 2500 and menzerna super finish 3500 with chemical guys green hex logic pads and white aswell. From what I've read I think my clear coat is typically medium hardness on a Seat. I have very light swirls, so I think I'll follow your method and maybe try 2 sets of 3500 with the white pads on a panel and see how it responds. As much as I'd like to jump straight in with the 2500 and green pads I think its sound advice starting light. Thanks again!

DA polisher best beginner machine. Yellow (color code varies by manufacturer)pad and medium cut compound is usually your best starting point for most jobs. Wish I learned on one. But I started with a rotary. So it made me extremely careful and detail oriented. Lucky for my brother. He learned on one. And also the cyclo is a fun machine. Makes you look unique while using one.

I'm putting my kit together, but I have to work outside & it's always raining here in England at the moment. Bring on the spring time! Quick question. Do you or have you used Bilt Hamber cleaning products? I'm really interested in there autowash & autofoam. Everyone seems to rave about them, but I value your opinion above all others. If you've reviewed them in a previous video (I've watched most of yours), please remind me which one. All the best!

Yeah mate a good video again. Your right about how pure light like midday sun can make what you thought was a great job look well a bit under done!!!!! Ditto my mum's White HQ Holden Premier that now has Gyeon coating over it. But that is ok still look bloody great in that the gloss is brilliant, fresher and really turns heads. But learnt a lesson. Looking forward now by purchasing some great micro fiber pads like HDO, Buff and Shine URO (if i can get them!!)or meguiars plus The Final Cut Polish or Polish Angel compund to use along side the brilliant Menzerna polish used in this video. Any ideas on The Last cut and URO pad availability????? Yes good quality LED lights plus old fashion SUN kinda makes you come down to earth but have gained much experience. Cheers again.

Noticed you used the same polisher as the DAS 6 Pro Plus 15mm. I tried my friends DAS 6 Pro Plus 15 and immediately sold my Rupes MK II 15. It has WAY more pad spinning power than the MK II. Not quite as smooth as the MK II, but good enough for me.

Great video. I don't think IPA wipe is really as much of an "honesty wipedown" as we all think thou. If you recall I left some comments on your Ultimate Compound video. Tried it. Liked the results. Was wiping off with IPA. I recently switched to wiping off with a grease and wax remover which is much more effective than IPA wipe. Scratches that I thought were gone with UC were actually being filled.

Thanks for another great video Sandro. I also did a DIY polish over the weekend. I ended up with little white transparent dots after a 1 stage and 2 stage correction. I can see in your video you have the same little transparent white dots in the paint after the stage 1 correction. May I ask how to remove these dots and what was the cause of the dots? Thanks again Sandro
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 3 года назад
Those dots tend to be minor pitting in the paint, usually cause by heat and also more common on hoods or bonnets. The only real way to remove or at least reduce their appearance is to cut or level the paint more aggressively, so sometimes it’s better to live with them rather than sacrifice more clear coat removing them, but it’s a choice you can make.

Thank you Sandro for the effort you put into your videos... Simply satisfying to watch. QUESTION, Do you use a washer modification on your long throw or did it come free spinning? Also, please pick up a CarPro Flash Pad, and a Lake Country Thin Purple Foam Wool Pad. These pads along with the tried and true microfiber pads on a long- throw DA will put you in the 95 to 99% range on all correction. One of the these 3 has been my go-to for a while now with foam pads only being needed for polishing, finishing, and one steps. Makes for faster working time with no drop or better quality production. Cheers from Houston, Texas, USA

@dcarrstar7719
@dcarrstar7719 6 лет назад
I do whatever my customer is willing to pay for. I always ask what they are expecting and the budget they want to work with. I then inspect with them present and make a recommendation. I do enough one steps, but multi-stage corrections is what pays my bills.
@NickM1013
@NickM1013 6 лет назад
D CarrStar Couldn’t agree more. I’m starting to see many detail shops selling coatings, clear bra’s, and wraps that are self healing when warm water is applied. Guess that is the new way to pay the bills for some of them. Looks cool though.

Mate, great video, I'm slowing going through all of your channel, keep up the good work. I'm a complete novice and just got my hands on a DA, so I'm keen to give it a go. If (like me) you only had weekends and not much time to do correction work, can you do a 2 step (if needed) on one panel at a time and progress slowly around the car over a couple of weeks? What happens if you say only get time to do correction and not polishing etc. Can you leave it saw for a week then continue? I'm just time poor with life/work :)

Thanks mate. I am enjoying them, I love your detailing 3 part series, I've already used a lot of the techniques on my wifes car! No chance on the indoors, I only have a car port at the moment but thats ok! Would it then be better to say complete all the correction and polish needed on one section/part then protect it with a wax or such then move onto the next section?

A minimum of two pads of each is vital in a working progress to swap out pads regularly and allow them to cool, you need to manage heat that way. You’ll probably need more like 4-5 pads to get through the whole car as they will become over saturated even with brushing them out, but you could stop wash and dry your two pads and then continue as a method.

Hi, great video again. One question. How can you tell if a car paint is hard or soft? Thanks.

@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Thanks Sandro, you've just cleared up a burning question I've wanted to ask a professional detailer for a while.

Really good video thanks a lot. I noticed you suggested in the video if what you use doesn't quite get rid of the swirls then to use a more aggressive compound and foam pad. What particular foam pad and compound would that be as an example? Thanks :D

@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Thanks for the quick reply. a Microfibre or wool pad but used with the same compound, right? Also I am watching your video on the pads... firstly its really useful and secondly I noticed for the HDO blue pad you talk about the cleaning procedure taking twice as long. What is your procedure for cleaning it? Thanks again bud

@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Just made an order for TLC off Waxit. Look forward to getting it. I also ordered the LC MicroFibre HDO Pad. Is the same procedure applied with Microfibre pads? For example.. Do I prime the pad with the compound first then apply 3 dots? Do I also keep the speed on setting 5 and apply about 5 pounds of pressure as I would with foam pads? Also I have been meaning to ask you. If I got only 1 foam pad for compounds, if I clean it well enough after each use, can I use that same pad using different compounds? Thanks

I hear loads of people talk about "Ghosting" and "Holograms" and "Micro marring". What do these terms actually mean? How do I know if I have them when I am starting out doing my polishing for the first time?

Hey Sandro, great video man 👍 I'm going to get into polishing but had a question regarding DA polishers. I have a 12mm Shinemate polisher, with a 3inch backing plate. Am I able to swap to bigger backing plates? Like 5inch? Cheers!

Glad you found the video helpful! DA polishers (unlike rotaries) have counter weights to balance their movements which are specific to each machine and it’s backing plate and pad sizes. Although you can put larger or smaller backing plates and pads on any DA, what happens is that it throws that balance off and the machine will run rough generally leading to a poor user experience, poorer results and increased machine wear. So you can do it, but I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it 🙂

@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Okay cool. I may see how I'll go with my 12mm, and then get a bigger DA if needed. Cheers again for answering my annoying questions 😂👌
