Beautiful. It really draws your eye to the front porch. The railings are going to tie it all together. Great job. Using biscuits on your miters with construction adhesive will pay off, your joints will remain closed for years to come. Enjoy watching someone do a job right. Great video.
Not only do you make everything look easy but it looks really good, too. You've become the go-to guy for practical solutions presented in a simple manner that even I can grasp. Thanks.
John Heisz Great Great video John. All the necessery details, and somehow you still make it look easy. Good job, and I love to see you put the icing on the cake these days on you reno.
Great video John, I'm pleased to say I've begun to use an English version of your beloved construction adhesive! And I have to say I'm very pleased with both its strength and ( with practice ) how easy it is to apply. Thanks again!
so good John. wish i was a daily passer-by on the street in front of your house so i could witness the progress on a daily basis. never thought i'd be jealous of other drivers. the house across from mine had those craftsman style columns and I always wondered what the tricks of the trade were for their construction. thanks for revealing it.
I am building w Tapered wood columns on some brick columns I made. To mimic old country porch. This was very helpful in cutting wood for my wraps. Thanks.
It's all in the details. Looks GREAT John. Great build - love how you did this, it really is done well. It looks great and throw in the pergola, just really nice. Paint scheme is also very nice. Honestly, one of your best builds when it comes to all the little details and tricks in getting this to come out as well as it did. Scott
Very nice. I tore down an old craftsman style house about 12 years ago and there were pillars like that on the porch. One of them was filled with yellow jacket nests.
Great vid. Really appreciate the editing style of talking about what you are doing to do side by side with doing it. Covers so much more ground in shorter time. Brilliant. Thanks for posting. Great tips.
i really like how those columns turned out! i also really really like the reinforcement that was done. a lot of the rotted material i see just falls off and has no backing to it unlike these fine pieces of work. thanks for some tips to a novice!
