How could anyone just remove the meat from the package and cook it w/o washing it??? 🤢🤮 I just thoroughly rinse under cold running water but I think I'll adopt Ms Gina's technique
The odd thing about that is, growing up on St. Thomas, USVI, there was a USDA sticker on the chicken along with instructions about preparing chicken before cooking.
Hi Gina, I agree I wash my Chicken good too👍let me finish watching👈I agree with your beautiful prayer in 🙏JESUS🙏Name, Amen, Dinner looks delicious hmm😛👍👍👍LOL😀at your Husband👍
@@joanned1910 Yeah my Nonna said not to wash chicken. I looked it up years later and found out washing raw chicken before cooking it can increase your risk of food poisoning from campylobacter bacteria. Splashing water from washing chicken under a tap can spread the bacteria onto hands, work surfaces, clothing and cooking equipment. Water droplets can travel more than 50cm in every direction and only a few campylobacter cells are needed to cause food poisoning. My guess is Gina has some Jamaican in her and was taught this way cause Jamaicans always wash their meat.
I just made your baked chicken recipe for dinner and it was a HIT!! I took all of your advice regarding being patient & not being afraid to season! THANK YOU!! You’re truly the epitome of a stellar chef!
Exactly Gina, you know if people had the opportunity to visit those buildings and see how they process meat they would NEVER question any1 else who clean their meat. I wish I would eat some meat that haven't been cleaned
Im with you Gina,I wash my chicken that's why I wont eat chicken at nobody house but my family because we all wash our chicken.that chicken looks good but that Prayer was the highlight for me!🙌
Hey Gina and all of you foodi's! I got the scoop on "to wash or not to wash chicken". The CDC is the one who put that recommendation out but, they did it not because washing the chicken would "hurt" the taste but rather as a way to reduce the chances of getting salmonella poisoning. Supposedly when washing chicken, tiny droplets of chicken "juice" that you can't see with the naked eye are going everywhere and if your kitchen is not thoroughly cleaned and disinfected after cooking, you and your family will get food poisoning. Not to worry, Gina girl is reminding everyone to thoroughly clean everything after handling and washing raw meat of any kind. So foodi's, wash your chicken and meat really good if you want to, I do also! Meat is "handled" by a lot of people before it gets to us and some of those folks may not be as clean as I am! Smile :-) Gina, Your chicken looked wonderful and I can't wait to try it. I have CKD (I am stable) and have to watch my salt/sodium intake. Cooking the way you do with all those "levels" of flavors I am able to use less salt and still have wonderful tasting food. Oh what would I do without onions, bell peppers, garlic and onion powder, etc. Per my doctor, America just eats too much salt and we damage our health. Let me stop, I have written a first edition! Love you girl and your special prayers, God bless!
Thank you Gina, you’ve been teaching me how to cook for about a year now and every time is comes out delicious! My friends and family come over every week just to eat dinner with us haha. Love you Gina, I can’t Thank you enough
I thought I was the only one to put ramen seasoning on chicken. It really adds so much delicious flavor! Glad to have found your channel, Gina. You seem like such a sweet, beautiful soul!
You be on point with the cleaning of the chicken so many don't understand the journey of the chicken from the farm to the grocery stores... ugly and nasty😣😨🤧
You are so awesome Gina, I start watching and I can’t stop! The other night you kept me up all night and I’m getting hungry now watching...anyway thanks and thank you for your prayers, your prayers mean the world to me you’re so gifted at praying that is a gift and it’s the favorite part of your recipes are your prayers they are from your heart ❤️and I can tell thank you for that thank you for being a real person and thank you for sharing and Dakota thank you for sharing your mom as I’m sure other times you want her with you when she’s making videos but be proud of her!! My brother use to work for a meat factory. When pallets broke and meat spill on the floor they do not rise it. They just repackage it. Never trust the government always clean your 🍖. In my community and the Caribbean community we don't play not cleaning our meat.
Hi Gina I made this recipe with leg and thighs. It was absolutely amazing. Taking the skin off not only reduced the fat but made the meat tastier. The spices and lime juice was absorbed into the meat. My new go to chicken recipe. I added mushrooms because we like the taste and I could taste everything. Thank you for allowing me into your kitchen.❤️
Hi. Gina this. looks good . I thought i was the only one who uses the seasoning out the pack of noodles . Then i save the noodles to use later in another dish . wow im glad to see im not the only one lol .. This looks good will be making this and so easy .. Thanks for sharing . And as always God Bless . And have a nice evening
Gina I made this last night..Wow just Wow! I love your videos!!!! In my head you’re my aunt, grandmother, fairy cooking godmother lol, and I am constantly soaking up all of your knowledge until the point I hear you while I’m cooking and not watching a video! 😇😍 THANK YOU
I have watched this video over and over so that I can remember how to make it, I love all of her recipes, Gina you are so good at how to say and show exactly how to do your foods
I'm gonna try this. I also just love your voice, spirit, and energy. it is uplifting :) Now: I made this today and the sazon and Ramen noodle packs were definitely a game changer. I used chicken legs and already had chicken Ramen noodles so I used the chicken flavor packs instead. I followed everything else exactly minus jalapeño and let the seasonings marinate on chicken in fridge over night. Bomb!!!! So happy I found this recipe! Thank u Gina!🙂🙂🙂 God bless you and your family! 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Gina! Your food looks so yummy, and yes I wash my chicken as well, Thanks for all your Awesome Recipes and Acknowledging God for all his Many Blessings! Brenda from Texas!
Wow!!!! You did a great job Gina I never thought about cooking it like that but I did I’m going to try it. Thank you for your recipe delicious chicken baked chicken yummy.😋🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thanks for sharing and being so detailed, especially about cross contamination. I have a great baked chicken recipe I make, but you can’t have too many. I’ll try yours next time I cook. I’ve heard of it, but I’ve never used Sazon. And the Ramen season pkt is ingenious. Adding to my grocery list now. Didn’t know there were lots of people not washing their meats! Prayer and love really blesses the food and makes it better.
Gina I just love your personality and keep washing your chicken. You cook like me. I love to experiment and sometimes use healthy ways to cook soul food and other dishes and still make it flavorful.
Thank you for sharing your wisdom, knowledge and your inner and outer beauty with all of us. I love that you pray after every session. May God continue to bless you and thank you for all your delicious recipes. I am going to try this tomorrow.
