How to make Garlic Flower Bread No-Knead Bread TBEO Video #86. The bread was soft and fluffy, savory, garlicky, and delicious. It's great to serve with soup or enjoy the way it is. Best to serve while still warm. To reheat: use a microwave at a medium level for 1 minute, and use an oven at 150°C for 15 minutes

NOTE for my measurements :
1 cup all-purpose flour = 125 grams
1 cup milk/water = 250 ml
Egg substitutes alternative: for one egg :
• 2 tbsp water + 1/2 tsp oil + 1/2 tsp baking powder + 2 tbsp flour. Stir until combined and mix with other ingredients for the dough.
• Flax seeds: 1 tbsp ground flaxseed + 3 tbsp water. Stir and let sit for 15 minutes. (for suitable bread recipes), grain bread.
• 1 tsp baking soda + 1 tbsp white vinegar + 1 tbsp water. Mix into the dough ingredients. (fluffy)
• A half of a ripe banana (for suitable flavor)
• ¼ cup of pureed fruits (moist): apple, apricot, prunes, avocado, pumpkin (for baking something where the flavor is suitable).
Garlic Flower Bread
Dough :
2.5 cups (312g) all-purpose flour
3 tbsp granulated sugar
1/2 tsp fine salt
1 tbsp dry yeast
3/4 cup (180ml) warm milk
1 large egg, beaten. Keep 2 tbsp for later use.
3 tbsp butter, room temperature
Extra flour as needed
Garlic Butter : (you maybe won't use it all)
1 cup butter/margarine, soft at room temperature (not melt)
1 tsp fine salt (table salt)
1/2 cup minced green onion
1 tsp garlic powder / minced garlic
Put butter, salt, and green onion in a small bowl, and mix until combined. Add garlic powder/minced garlic into the mix and continue mixing until well blended. Keep in the fridge until ready to use.
Make the dough :
1. In a mixing bowl put flour, and make 3 wells. Add into each well: sugar, salt, and yeast. Stir sugar and yeast first then stir together using a wooden spoon.
2. Pour the warm milk and beaten egg (minus 2 tbsp). Stir until combined.
3. Add soft butter, and continue stirring until well blended into a smooth sticky dough.
4. Put the dough into a greased bowl. Cover with cling wrap and put in a warm place for about an hour.
An hour later the dough will be very soft and hollow. When you pull the dough, it will show the hollows all around.
Sprinkle with extra flour and start folding with fingertips (not kneading). Sprinkle more flour as needed but not too much.
5. Dust the work table with flour before putting in the dough. Flatten the dough with your hand. Cut into 16 pieces.
6. Shape the dough into balls. Sprinkle with flour to prevent sticking.
7. Flatten or press the dough with fingers, and spread with 1/2 tsp of garlic butter. Fold into a half-moon then gather both corners creating a flower petal.
Repeat the method until finished.
8. Arrange on greased a round baking pan ( I used an inverted pie pan). Cover with loose cling wrap for 30 minutes. Let rise.
9. Brush-beaten egg on top.
Bake at 175°C pre-heated oven, for 30 minutes until golden brown and blooming.
Let's stay in the pan for 10 minutes. Serve with hot soup or enjoy the way it is.

Adonan :

1 sdt garam halus (garam dapur)
1/2 cangkir bawang hijau cincang
1 sdt bawang putih bubuk / bawang putih cincang

I made it today and it turned out really good eventhough I used selfraising flour, because I didn't have plain flour. Also, I swapped the green onions for thym and parsely. All other ingredients I used the same quantities. It's delicious! Very soft and light! Great recipe. Will definately make it again!

Years ago I worked in a supermarket deli. Right next to it was the in store bakery. On the mornings I would open the baker had been their an hour already and the store smelled like bread. Probably one of the best smells in life. I bet your house always smells like that!

I tried this recipe and it came out perfect on the first try. I did have to add extra milk and I also substituted the green onion for parsley and added cheese into the butter paste. It was perfect! My family enjoyed it very much.

Hey ninik again my comment about garlic bread... This tym i bake with 2 cup of wholeweat flour and half cup of all purpose flour with 1 tablespoon milk powder.. And it worksss it also gave soft bread 😊😊😊

Loved this recipe. Made it last night and it came out really good. I just needed to more than 1 cup of milk to get the consistency right. Other than that this recipe and you are amazing. I wish I could post a picture.

You can use 1/4 cup of plain yogurt at room temperature (the dough will be stickier). Or use 2 tbsp more butter.

Just made this using my own garlic butter for my grandmother and she loved it! Thanks for sharing. I think there may have been a mistake with the given liquid amount in the video and on the written one, I had to use a total of 1 1/3 cups of milk in order to get the same wet consistency like the video but went smoothly otherwise. Can wait to cook again and tuck some cheese inside as well.

I feel based in my bread making experience and good professional videos in your tube you do not need more flour. You are using more flour because the dough is sticky. The dough needs more kneading which you are not doing . Adding more flour makes the dough more difficult to digest and the bread will not be as fluffy with a good structure when tearing it , apart from this is good video . I gave it a like :) :)

Heyy.. i had a question.. u mentioned in the description that this dough is not suitable for cold fermentation..can you tell me the reason behind this and clarify how one can know when to overnight ferment the dough and when not to? Also when u bake u keep the both rods on or just the bottom one?... just curious..🤓🤓

Hey..+Nidaa, thanks for your questions. For this recipe I used milk and egg which is different with a classic no-knead dough. That's why I recommended to bake in the same day. When baking a bread I always use both heat, upper and lower heat.

Hi, I tried the garlic bread today, which came out looking yummy . But it's not so fluffy as yours and it's a bit moist, guessed it's the garlic butter too much.that melted. Anyhow thanks for sharing,, I'm quite happy with the result after trying a few recipes that was unsuccessful.. I'll try again but with less garlic butter spread on the dough. I liked this garlic bread recipe very much. The result is good, and it's simple and easy.📢📢📢👍🏻I'll follow more of your recipes. First tried good result. I've the confidence to try more of your recipes. Thanks

Thanks so much for trying my recipe. The butter will melt during baking, please fold the flower dough nicely so that the butter will entrap inside the bread and make the texture soft and fluffy

Hi, just found your recipe and tried it right away. Turned out to be super good~ the bread is soft. Since you don't need to knead the dough, you can save time and energy. Especially someone like me who don't really good at kneading. I added seasonings and herb to my butter~ Glad to find your recipe. Thank you :)

Just made this and it turned out exactly like yours. Looked and tasted great my only complaint was that the dough was a little sweet for the savoury bread. Will it still work if I only use 1 tbls of sugar?

I'm glad you mentioned it was sweet because that's what I wanted. I plan on cutting back on the green onions and using half. If you don't prefer the sweetness I would surely cut the sugar in half because the milk has sugar in it. I'm not sure how it would turn out if you use a skim milk which contains less sugar in it.

The bread was delicious. The only problem I had was closing the ends of the dough to shape them into flower like shapes. But other than that, it was perfect.

I did the double fold, but closing the ends was difficult. I am not sure if I had too much filling and the butter made my fingers too greasy. But the opposite ends wouldn't hold together.

I guess you put filling too much so when it fold, the filling spread out and makes the dough doesn't stick together.
