Hey man, I'm taking a welding class in school and one of the key things to making a better weld is structure, I recommend as well as my 40+yr teacher who is a veteran i the machining and metals industry, is to make little arcs back and forth across the metal, or circles, or small zigzags, once you see the glowing red metal, and you use those tips you can control it to make an insanely good weld.

It's nice to see you make all this stuff for fun usage and are still right minded and don't use them for harming others, just shows this world still does have weapon engineers/blacksmiths who can make stuff like this and still be a good person

I don't know how well it wood function, but your build males it appear both durable and absolutely eye-catching. The "zombie apocalypse" genre has birthed some wild missile and melee weapons, both functional and just cardboard "for fun" types. The creativity is just great and perfectly illustrates "necessity is the mother of invention".

You should sell the things you make. It could make you quite a lot of money.

Glad to see that you've started welding. Just get your volts/amps and feed speed right. Then make small circles with your gun. There's a bunch of youtube videos dedicated to MIG welding so go and check those out to troubleshoot your welds. The things to worry about most with welding is safety, being comfortable, and practice.

This is awesome! I am the first assistant manager in the hardware department at a Menards store, and have watched some of ur videos noticing our brands. Every time I see these products I see ways to make zombie apocalypse weapons. So this channel makes me happy haha.

Always loved the improvised nature of these videos. Not to mention the low cost. This video is a particular favorite of mine, although in my replication, i skipped the machete part and just used the saw blade. Much easier, cheaper, and disposable if lost or broken.

i try not to discourage or criticise to hard so please take what i say with a grain of salt. im a veteran welder. been doing it ten years. get rid of the cheap harbor freight welder you have. its not adjustable. spend the money on a miller or lincoln welder. even a small one will be perfecr for your aplications. thin metal like what your working with should be tig welded. its sturdy and doesnt apply too much heat to warp your metal. but mig welding will suffice. secondly get rid of your harbor freight welding hood and buy a cheep auto tint by miller or lincoln. if you cant afford it get in touch with me and ill give you mine i dont use it much. also. stop wasting money on those flap wheels. flap discs are food for shinning up your weld. but never grind your weld flat. not for your applications. grind it to look pretty but leave the girth of the weld. use the flap wheel to clean up the splatter and round egdes and add the shiney sheen. also a cheap plasma cutter from harbor freight will help you alot instead of using a grinder to cut thin steel like you use. yes some money will have to be dumped and i get that you wont be able to buy it all at once. but keep trying. again want a good auto tint hood? let me know and you can have mine.

about the 60 fps thing, no i think you lose that sense of motion that you get from the slight motion blur of 30 fps, i think 60fps works best for gameplay. anyways i dont speak for everyone, but if you agree thumbs up this comment so Eli can see it

Wow im super glad I found this channel. I do alot of this kinda stuff, and I actually do some basic forging. But im the opposite with the weldimg vs rivets. I grew up welding with my dad, and thats all I know. I still have never used rivets bt id like to for some builds, like helmets or whatever

Glad your channel is doing well. You should do a theme build. For example science fiction, fantasy, anime, or even a specific, game, movie, or show. Your builds so far remind me of Borderlands or Fallout so it wouldn't be much extra work. I would also love to see a PVC crossbow and easy/cheap to make bolts...maybe out of dowel rods, thin PVC pipe, Rebar.

Neat or should I say cute project. Nicely done. Welding tip: Start with a tack weld at each end of your joint. Tack again at the center point between ends, then again between an end tack and the center, then the other end and center. Keep splitting the distance between welds, do first at one end then the other trying to keep the heat as far away from the last tack as possible. Eventually joining all of these tack welds into one long weld joint. This is especially useful when working with thin materials as it prevents blow through and overheating. You will also be able to turn up your amps and wire feed for better penetration on each tack. Tack sequence, 1-6-4-3-5-7-2.

Trust me Eli welding ain't something that you pick up in an hour. I've been welding since grade 10 and now that I've almost finished high school i still cant get a consistent weld. But don't worry you will definitely get there. awesome build and i'm almost tempted to make a saw blade myself.

Quick tip i learned when i started welding is cut or grind a bevel into the two pieces I'm welding together so that there's more weld material overall making for a stronger connection and it allows you to grind the excess weld off making it look cleaner without compromising strength.

i dont know how i'd end up in this channel, but its awsome. :D
