This guy knows what he's talking about. I never really took the membrane off the back when I prep them either I've done it both ways and it's the same result.

Nice walk through on the cook Alton and man that's the biggest argument in BBQ is going with or without the membrane on the ribs, but like you said it really isn't a big difference if you hydrate them well. I myself usually remove it but if I'm pressed for time I leave on but always keep my trimmings and rib tips. Thanks for sharing 👍🏾🔥⚗️

Right when I was going to ask about the membrane, you commented on it haha. Great video. I've never cooked with the membrane successfully. Hoping to try this out!

I really enjoy watching your videos and am so glad you are feeling much better. I see you have foil covering the drip tray. I also have the Titan and was wondering if I could cover its tray since it is shaped differently than other pellet grills that have the flat trays. Keep the videos coming.

wow thats the ticket! good coarse pepper and enough salt to do the job. then getting that spritz with a little hot sauce and acv and water ohh wow thats genius! finish it thru bone side up and glaze and set glaze then foil wrap with additional glaze and rest/steam finish to resorb flavors and juices and not soften the bark to mush. man this is gonna step my game up 100% thank you so much!! i will now do simpler traditional rubs and build flavor textures using spritz and glaze and will try the wrap and rest finish. 👍👍

Delish spare ribs! The spices and the juicyness were both on point!

You can achieve this in 30 min on a charcoal grill . Actually any high fat content meat like ribs don’t take long to cook with incredible moisture and flavor.

Direct heat cooking ribs is a TOTALLY different cook. I do them often. Hot & fast was not the aim of this cook at all. Thank you for your input however.

I’m always going to go for a St. Louis cut on my spares. Is it more wasteful if you toss the trimmings, maybe but it’s a nice consistent cook and no cartilage bits to deal with. 275 for two hours, 1 hour in the wrap. Glaze unwrapped until it’s tacky, rest then eat. Anything over 4 hours to cook ribs is not allowed.

Hey Alton, love your content brother!!! Quick question for you. Which grill do you like better, the Titan or the Pitboss Pro-series 1600? Would love to see a comparison video. Keep doing your thing my friend!!!!
@TheDawgfathasBBQ
@TheDawgfathasBBQ 3 месяца назад
I'll keep that in mind. I thought about doing it but wondered if anyone would care. Honestly speaking, I like them both, and they both do a great job. I think the better grill is a mash up of both cookers. Some things are better on each grill than the other. As far as functionality goes, it's a draw for me.

I'm sincerely interested to know how the Titan is holding up. I don't own a pit boss, but I keep reading how their controllers are unreliable and prone to fail. This particular smoker seems to have fixed all of the issues that I've had with previous pellet smokers... My hang up is the controller and lack of local availability (I'm in NY). Thank you in advance sir with any info you may feel like providing. 🙂

I haven't had any issues with the Titan at all. Just as reliable today as it was day one. Same can be said for the Pro Series 1600 I have as well.
