You can put the whole unpeeled sweet potato right in a low oven - 325 - and let them cook for about 45 minutes, turn them over and cook for another half hour. Then let them cool. You can cook them a couple of days ahead, that way they’ll be ready for use! Enjoy!
I used a pressure cooker to cook mine ahead this year, with the skin on, quartered. Pressure cooked for 5 minutes, then the peels slid right off, made it so much quicker and easier!
Interesting idea adding the dried cranberries! I'll have to try that. I definitely recommend baking the sweet potatoes instead of boiling them in water. The oils that release in the baking process adds so much to the flavor, and you lose that completely when you peel and boil. Thanks for sharing this!
Hi, I made this for thanks giving and it was a big hit. Only thing I did extra was adding marshmallows on the top and baking for 5 minutes towards the end, since my kids love them. Thank you for sharing your wonderful recipes with us. I made turkey lasagne with leftovers following your chicken lasagne recipe. I have tried many of your recipes already and those were really delicious. Even when, I am not planning to cook, I like to watch your videos. Your confidence and positive energy is always an inspiration. Keep up the great work! Truly amazing. May God bless you abundantly!
Hi, Natasha! I have to tell you -- I made this for Thanksgiving and it.....was.....AMAZING!!! My daughter's boyfriend raved about it and I absolutely loved it, as well as everyone else! It was such a nice change from my usual "candied" yams, and I will definitely be making this again next year. Thanks so much for your fantastic recipes and totally kewl videos! :)
I guess one of the perks of being a RU-vid food channel creator is that you get to have Thanksgiving dinner in little bits and pieces all month long! ;) Another great recipe Natasha!
This is one of my favorites! I have had the basic recipe in my head since 1988... A french chef shared his secret. Whipped heavy cream, whipped egg whites but I whip the entire egg and cream, splash of OJ, few tablespoons of crushed pineapple, toasted pecans chopped and added to the mix and baked in plus used for the topping, I only use brown sugar and sometimes a little raw honey so it comes out moderately sweet. Serve with whipped cream or cool whip on top...Yes vanilla, almond extract and cinamon powder... if the mix is too wet I add flour to the mix about a half cup to thicken it... I make it different each time but yesterday I nailed it!!! My other fav dish is mashed potatoes with broccoli and onions, butter and cream cheese, salt and pepper.... try it! Go easy on the cream cheese!!! Chunks of potato and onion etc are nice so I don't over whip it... No idea where I got that recipe... Pretty sure I made it up because I love broccoli...
Dear Nataha, Because of you great recipe that I made this sweet potato casserole 2 years ago, now I became officially requested to do it every year. Thank you for all your great recipe!! Blessings!
Thank you for posting this recipe. I modified it a bit. I cut the sweet potatoes in half, wiped them with avocado oil, place them cut edge down on parchment paper in a 325 degree oven for 25 minutes or until soft. Cool until you can pull off the skin. Place the cooked sweet potato halves into a large bowl, add the spices and continue with this recipe. A big hit at Thanksgiving today! 🦃
Hi Natasha, I tried your recipe today and it turned out great! Not too sweet and a tangy flavor from the dried cranberries 😊. Love the crunch pecan topping, my husband loved it and I am sure he will be requesting this dish again. Thank you so much for sharing 🙏
I got this recipe over 24 years ago from a neighbor when I was living in Atlanta and I have since made this dish every Christmas day to go with the turkey, stuffing and all the other fixings. It is our family favorite. The only difference is instead of flour in the topping we used crushed cornflakes or frosted flakes but then reduce the brown sugar somewhat. So glad to see you make this recipe! I now live in France and introduced my French inlaws to this recipe since living here and they all love it too.
My mother made it for thanksgiving and it was a crowd pleaser. We all went back for more! Now I’m making it for my family. Thanks for such great recipes!
I’m supposed to take sweet potato casserole tomorrow to the thanksgiving dinner and from all the recipes I saw this is the one I’m choosing to make, much much faster and easier and me being a busy person (20hr shifts) is perfect. Thank you thank you thank you. ❤
I just mentioned sweet potatoes. And now I found this recipe thank you. I will try this out. The one i make have cheese, nutmeg, sugar melted butter and milk. Just add to the mashed sweet potatoes. Sprinkle with brown sugar and a little nutmeg and bake. Thats how my children and granddaughter loves it.
Thank you for the recipe absolutely love it. Do you know if I'm able to make the casserole and store it in the fridge overnight and bake it the next day? Will it still turn out is delicious??
Natasha I Prefer Raisins, Pecans And Pineapple Becuz Of The Sweetness Of The Raisins And Pineapple I Used Less Sugar aka Sweet Huh’ Thanks For Sharing 😊
I make a very similar one for Christmas with our ham. My version doesn't have cranberries in it but it does have orange zest. Otherwise it is the same so it must be fabulous. My family doesn't let Christmas go by without it!
Hi Natasha, I’m a big fan of your cooking. Made this casserole last week for thanks giving and let me tell you, it’s the best sweet potato casserole I ever had. Thanks for sharing this recipe.
Just tried it today and it is delicious. I added cinnamon to my topping part because I love cinnamon especially with pecans. And added more butter than it called for. Also I think Next time I need to use more sugar in the sweet potato part but that’s just me. I love this recipe
Sweet potatoes is my favorite dish for Thanksgiving😋 I don't care what I have to have sweet potatoes and thank you for this recipe because it's done differently , and I'm going to try, and make it have a great Thanksgiving and thank you again👏👏😍💕🦃🦃🦃🦃

Thank you for the recipes, i am baking sweet potatoes today side dish bring to my boyfriend house . I make all side dish and bake . She will cook turkey . Haply thanksgiving to you and to all.
Hi Natasha I made a variation of this casserole instead of making it totally sweet I made it slightly sweet and savory I took all the buttery juice falling off of the turkey it was like a quarter cup and I added it to the sweet potato I put maple syrup like three or 4 tablespoons some vanilla and nuts on the top that was it super simple but it was not too sweet
Made this!!! it was excellent. But unfortunately. By the time I remember to take the camera out and take a picture. The casserole was gone on plates, and in the tummies. 🤣😂😋
Natasha, this recipe was such a hugh hit for Thanksgiving that my husband asked for it for his Birthday dinner tonight plus a pumpkin pie instead of a cake! This is now a family favorite. Thanks again.😋🥰🥳
Made this for our Thanksgiving dinner instead of the usual mashed potatoes and have been craving for it since. I definitely prefer this so gonna be making it often.

Looks like my way of cooking sweet potato casserole. And I love how she does her video. Gets to the point on the recipe, doesn’t waste my time on watching all the steps until each one is done. She shows you how to do it and goes to the next step. 2/26/24 at 4:30 pm
I just watched my 1st ever video of yours and I immediately subscribed not because of your recepies but because of your fun personality you also have a great sense of humor good luck with your channel
had never tried this, I love sweet potato but in Mexico we make it sweet with piloncillo and add milk when ready to eat, tried your recipe and it is THE BEST, my girls loved it and so did I...oh and that pecan topping is amazing
Thanks for the recipe! I made a similar casserole once but can’t remember what recipe I followed. 😅 I don’t have sweet potatoes so I’ll sub with pumpkin purée and leave out the cranberries. I have walnuts and almonds only so I’ll use those for now. 🤗 I may even add nutmeg and all spice to give it a nice fall vibe.🎉
Cant wait! Natasha can you make your go to omelette recipe? Im trying to find a good 1 and i know anything you post will be easy to make and be tasty as heck.
thank you for the suggestion, I will add that to my list after the holidays. You can try this one in the mean time - natashaskitchen.com/bacon-spinach-egg-white-omelette/
you are very welcome Maria 😀. I just looked at your channel and I liked what you are making 👍🏻. If possible, I would recommend to upload your videos in minimum 720p resolution or 1080p. Your recipes are at 360p, which makes it very hard to see on bigger devices or on the computer.
