I think the best improvement has come from the purchase of an adjustable light that is suitable for a painting desk. Just having a consistent light lets me paint for longer without straining my eyes is so nice. It also lets me real see the colour. Also closely followed by a wet palette and a paint mixer 🤣

Thing that helped my hobby was buying Tamiya extra thin cement. Makes glueing models so much easier than GWs plastic glue

I bought the palette from The Army Painter because I wanted to save myself the cutting of sponge and paper and I am satisfied. But for metallics I use a small rectangular ceramic palette with indentations. Greetings from Germany PS: The light turned out really well.

Great video. When cutting your parchmrnt paper to size, make it slightly smaller than the container. The paper expands slightly as it dampens so if you cut it exactly to size it will press against the sides and be prone to wrinkling.

My favourite tool for my painting hobby is me. It ain't the sharpest but it will get better as more painting is achieved (at least, so I hope).

My favorite tool is my brush cleaning soap it saves all my brushes even when I F’ up and pull a dumb ass like set my Brush down to address a miss mold line, never store your brushes upside down always flat… I use this stuff…General Pencil Company Inc., The Masters Brush Cleaner & Preserver 1 Oz. I buy off Amazon less than $10 USD saved me hundreds in replacement brushes. I have no affiliation and have only ever used it because it has worked beautifully random trial after $300 in replacement brushes.

TK Maxx frequently have Systema boxes for sale at a good price if you are near enough to one. And distilled water gives a few extra days of mold free wet pallet use over tap water.

For people in the U.S. watching this, Reynolds cooking parchment paper is readily available at grocery stores.

I have so many as a newbie. Home made way pallet like the ones in this video. I did buy the army painter one but haven't used it yet. A magnifier desk lamp which I got recently. And as I don't have an airbrush, a rattle can completely leveled up my painting. Getting a solid base down on a unit of 10 is so much better than sticking 2 thin coats of base across the unit. Need a better way to hold them though. And don't really wanna buy the spray stick

I don't paint miniatures but I run into similar issues keeping gouache paint at the right consistency when painting so I might try this!

Best improvement would be Magnifying Helmet or jeweler's head band. They work fantastic for me and mine has a 3 LED light with two brightness setting, 10 lens, and jeweler's lens for @$20.00

dunelm was my go to but they changed the paper to brown, so I started getting it from co-op for a while. not I just buy the retail paper from redgrass games.
