That was extremely good idea on put a screen on the muffler if needed and was also interesting on screen in the muffler causing fires and of course the biggest cause like you quoted was not by saws👍👍👍👍😎
As a former CAL-FIRE firefighter in Northern California I saw several large brush fires that we traced back to guys running "illegal" muffler mods on their saws. That being said, these weren't loggers or other professionals. All but one case involved a John Q. Homeowner type who had a few acres of land (2-17) and a "I'm going to cut what I want when I want" attitude. These fires resulted in severe damage to several homes and outbuildings, and destroyed one car...but it was always surrounding property. The guys at fault always managed to avoid significant loss. I'm all for running a worked up saw as long as it used responsibly.
@jdittmann1977 so if i'm understanding you correctly, you witnessed 'several' large brush fires, all except ONE were traced back to guys running illegal muffler mods on their chainsaws. ???? Lemme ask you something else, what is it about boomers that you just make up scenarios in your head to scare other people into compliance or 'safety'. Shit that never happened. I don't get it. I can't trust anything that comes out of an old persons mouth because you fuckers just constantly lie or make shit up
Awe, poor over paid silver spooned good ol' boy had to put out a fire- cry about it. You do know that is a service, not a trade, right? How about you go out and get a real job where you have to work like the other 99% of the population and then you will have something legitimate to cry about. I can't stand square people...
A tuned pipe is taking advantage of harmonic waves. That's why it's "tuned". Dual ports are just shifting a lot of air. Chainsaws can't practically be used with tuned pipes so shifting a lot of air is the next best thing.
Would be interesting to compare original, ported mufler and an Iron horse mufler on the same saw. Especially since you got the dyno. No bs, just numbers👍
