Today we'll take a look at a super easy and affordable way to make any piece of aquarium gear smart and voice-enabled. I'll show you how to connect equipment like your filter, CO2, and light to an Amazon Alexa or any other Wi-Fi enabled digital assistant. We all know this scenario well: You're maintaining your aquarium and you need to handle a plug, but your hands are wet and the cable is difficult to access. That's where having your aquarium equipment connected to voice-enabled smart plugs is an absolute game changer! Simply ask Alexa or Google to turn off your filter and the work is done for you. I use these voice commands to turn off my filter and CO2 every time I begin my maintenance. Additionally, I'm able to use the CO2 smart plug as a timer to program when the CO2 turns on and off everyday. As someone who previously used mechanical timers, this helps reduce cable clutter and makes changing the CO2 schedule much easier since it can be done from the Go Smart App.
