💡Build a room from scratch???. Im so ready to just scrap everything in my living room. And start over. Is there 1 piece I should buy and then build around that piece 🤔?!?! 💜 from TX.
Lisa: This is the super, super dupe Me: I can only afford the super, super, duper, uber dupe!🤣🤣😂 I absolutely love your channel! Most of my furniture is from West Elm🤷🏽♀️ and a few RH piece.
Lisa Holt Design Lisa - I love your energy! Another great video. I’d love to see dupes for finishing an open concept space that ties the living spaces together. Especially looking for great inexpensive wall art, rugs and objects to be placed around the space.
Here’s an idea, Lisa. How about starting a series entitled, “Ask Lisa,” where we send you pictures of a room and ask you questions and you share the answers on RU-vid. Just a thought!
All these negative comments, she's not a designer who only does ikea diy like most designers on youtube. She's showing how to get a 15k couch for 2k and if you are in that point in life where you are settled down and in your 'grown up' house, saving up for a 2k couch is doable. She always goes into detail on materials and what to look for, feel free to go to your favorite store and hunt for similar pieces!
@@LisaHoltDesign Thanks for taking the time to explain a lot of your design concepts! Don't let the haters get you down, I don't even think they're haters.. They just don't get it. Before I moved into my new place thought that Ikea was high end. It'll come with time!!
Well Teri I’ll tell you what I’m going to do… I’ve decided to do a video on superdupes and I think I’ll find some great affordable pieces for you guys! So hang on there! 🙂
I am very much a target and home goods shopper! But I LOVE being introduced to Lisa’s high end designer items. I can’t get enough. Thanks Lisa! Keep em coming!!
Your enthusiasm is infectious! Love the series. Everyone is not looking for DIY/StudioMcGee/Farmhouse/RH dupes. I love that you are providing inspiration as a high end designer. Looking forward to your next video!
I agree...never like to follow the trends personally and love learning the insider trips! Recent sub...enjoying it on this rainy weekend in NC! Inspired!!
Even though I cannot afford some of the suggested dupes, but by introducing us to the originals (and their history!) and analyzing on why they excelled, you've helped me to become more knowledgeable to hunt for my own dupes with a price tag that fits my needs. =)
I'm not in the market for these things, but it always gives me a chuckle how you get so excited about all these different styles. It really shows how you are a great designer... being able to love a certain design element and make it work for your clients even if it isn't "your" particular style. I could never do that! I'd always be steering them in a direction of what I like and only making them frustrated... probably why I'm in the medical field and not a designer... lol! You are one talented lady! P.S., I subscribed a few videos ago!
Thank you sweet stuff! Well for some reason I just love design and I love sharing all of it with you guys! I can tell you I would be a disaster in the medical field so we’re probably even on that score! Keep on watching and commenting😘😘😘😘
You are a breath of fresh air! What a fabulous teacher you are....the enthusiasm, the sense of joy, the clear easy to understand explanations of what your ‘decorators eye’ sees make your videos so easy to understand. I also appreciate your humble, down to earth style. Thank you
You betcha Sharleen!!! 👍🏼 I actually have another video JUST like this on the channel that I think you'll love!! 🥰 It's called Designer Products You Won't Believe You Can Afford!
Meg!! 🙌🏻 Working with clients is the best - I LOVE helping people design their dream homes and live their best lives!! 🤩💚 Thank you for this sweet comment, and happy Tuesday! 🥰💙
You really know how to make decorating fun again. I always pick up on your positive energy and smile and laugh at your amazing talent and wit. Please keep educating us while never making us feel like we are worthless if we don't throw all our stuff out and start over, even though I have done that!! You are also great at doing the hi and low in a very chic way. Keep us excited and learning new styles because we really need it now more than ever.
You are so cute! Your energy is contagious! I love how much are teaching me about design, especially with the cost savings! Can't wait til your next video!
I like that you give the history/background of the piece you are featuring. Form and function in furniture design is a sophisticated art and its much more difficult to achieve than many people know. If you can't afford "the real thing", it's great to learn about the pieces and what makes them special.
Hi! Thanks so much for the kind comment! I do really try to educate my audience! Have you joined the list for the DesignCLUB yet? I think you’ll love it, we’ll livestream Q&A’s, deep dive and give lots of pro tips all about design, great for if you've got a project coming up!
This is the absolute best series!! For people like me, on a budget, it’s refreshing to know that I can still add a little class to my home using some of the pieces that you mention in these videos! Thank you so very much!
I love this series of dupes and super dupes. It is nice for those who have been following the greats for decades and those who like to learn. Thanks Lisa!
Lisa's energy makes it hard to have a bad day. Another well made, quality content video💜. I like to habe eaten my acrylics off as the drum rolled in my head while I waited on dupes🤣🤣🤣🤣. 💜 from TX.
Girl on a single budget. We need the third option for your suggestions like the trays segment. 👍🏽 I adore your channel 💖 & your excitement of really high end furniture/designer pieces. 😍
Hi Ann... oh I get it! I’ve been on those budgets ...even now! But, with these dupes we can start to grow a beautiful collection one piece or tray at a time 😉
Brenda Brenda , on FB Marketplace all the time! Just picked up a solid cherry spare bedroom set. Ikea is perfect for rugs, pillows & curtain rods. Great places to shop Brenda.☺️
Yay! Thanks so much for your kind comments, and thanks for joining my channel! Have you joined the list for the DesignCLUB yet? I think you’ll love it, we’ll livestream Q&A’s, deep dive and give lots of pro tips all about design, great for if you've got a project coming up!
Even though some of the pieces weren't my personal style, I can tell you put time into finding dupes that look incredibly similar instead of just the first one you found. Thanks for the suggestions!
Thanks so much for your kind comments! Have you joined the list for the DesignCLUB yet? I think you’ll love it, we’ll livestream Q&A’s, deep dive and give lots of pro tips all about design, great for if you've got a project coming up!
Love your energy and positivity! You've reignited the amateur designer in me! I got weak in the knees when I saw the profile pic of that designer leather couch! Soooooo beautiful!
Hi, Lisa! I like the series idea but would LOVE it if each item had not only the “dupe” but the “super dupe”, as well. Love your channel; I’m subscribed!
HI LISA🐒 I THINK I NEED A SUPER SUPER SUPER VERSION OF THE DUPE SO I LL END UP WITH A COUPLE OF DIYS - THAT TRAY WITH THE HUGE RING HANDLES FOR EXAMPLE - I HAVE SOME CRAZY CREATIVE IDEAS FOR THAT ITEM (IN SILVER GOLD METAL WOOD LEATHER FAUX WHATEVEVER ) CLASSIC AND.RISTIC SLEEK STREAMLINED AND VIBRANTLY MODERN AND CHEEKY AT THE SAME TIME AND SOMETIMES EVEN WITH A TOUCH SORRY ACCENT OF DRÔLERIE 🦈🐞 SOMETHING VERSATILE AND LIGHT SOMETHING GLAM AND SIMPLE AND CASUAL AND EFFORTLESS 🍃🍂LOVE YOUR💛 ENTHOUSIASM 🧡THOUGH 💙❤ THANK YOU LISA AND GOD BLESS 🦋🌸🐴
Still out of my budget, but a nice start to the series. And I like your appreciation of Knoll furniture. We have a couple of Mies van der Rohe originals from an office renovation that I've grown to enjoy. Don't sit in them, but they are nice to have.
Love your videos (and I promise, I'm subscribed!) - you have such a great and engaging presentation style, but I really appreciate how good the information is! The kinds of detail you provide about pieces or about the elements of particular design styles or practical approaches across the different series you've done are so good. It's genuinely interesting and seems more in depth than some of the other sites and channels that go a bit once-over-lightly; your knowledge and experience really shines through, but with an ease to it and sense of fun. I think there's just no substitute for someone who really knows their stuff talking about it with enthusiasm!
Omg, Lisa! These are wonderful dupes! I got so many wonderful ideas from this video. I'm headed over to watch the other video you recommended. I know I've seen it, but I can't remember anything anymore. I blame it on those menopause years. I'm excited about this series.
LOL Marilyn!!! 😂💜 I think everyone's memory is a little jumbled after the year we've had!! 😆 Have you seen the NEW dupes video I put out yesterday?? 😍🧡 If you loved this vid I KNOW you're not going to want to miss the pieces I'm sharing with you guys! Check it out and let me know what you think!! 💚😘
LUV YOU, you're so funny "you pick that bone" I love this series too! You should have your own show. Great information, especially when times are hard right now.
Another fantastic video! All the furniture (high end and the dupes) are gorgeous! I love your videos.. you have such great tips! You do an awesome job! 😊
I LOVE LOVE woods but mixing them is tough to get right! I’m not sure if I’ll be getting a video out soon about that but I will be surely addressing that in my new design club coming out in January. Definitely go to www.lisaholtdesign.com to sign up for the email list🙂😘🙂
Congrats on all your growth on RU-vid! Your channel is really refreshing. It's so nice to see someone talk about high end designer brands like Knoll and Roche Bobois. Keeping doing you girl! ♥️
Love the series! I just saw the 2nd interview series and had to come and watch this one, too. Thank you for featuring mid century classics. Thats is my decor style.
YAY LeAnn, I am SO happy that you are LOVING this series as much as I am!! 👏🏼👏🏼 Who doesn't like balling on a budget?!?! 😆 Thank you sooo much for leaving such a sweet comment and thanks for tuning in this week!! 🥰
@@LisaHoltDesignI am a newer viewer of your channel so I haven't caught up on all the videos. But, just curious if you ever use vintage or thrifted or repurposed items in your decor designs?
Awww Larry you are TOO good to me - getting this sort of comment always just makes my day!!! 💚🌟 I have SO so much fun making these videos and sharing my design experience with all of you...I love hearing that you're finding them useful!! 👏🏻💙 Thank you SO much for this sweet comment - I love my channel fam!! 💕🥰
I understand what you mean. often (not for many classic styles) one does find cheper dupes at Ikea. but unless you go with the rather pricier series 'stockholm', they look nice, but they don't look expensice. my small appartement is styled like that. and a lot of people like the look and give me credits for my tast.... but I know, it looks fine for what it is. nobody would say, I have achieved an expensive look :-) it doesn't work that way. somethings have to feel solid and quality items, even when you sit down and not only, when you look at it. ..still I totally get, what you mean!
Omg I absolutely love your channel and this series. I stay up all hours of the AM watching your videos. I love your design suggestions and your enthusiasm. Thank you.
Thanks Annette! I so appreciate you watching my videos into the early a.m. hours! You really need to be getting your sleep, but hopefully you’re learning a lot about design and having fun too!!!!😘
Omg. I had that tulip table the first time around in the early 70s. Loved it then but then the 80s came and wood was everywhere. Still love that table though. Wish I still had it.
You are quickly becoming one of my favorite RU-vidrs! (Yes, I am subscribed. Hit. Smashed. Thumbs up.) You’re my “go-to gal” for EduTainment! That’s right, I‘m learning so much, it’s education, but you’re so dang funny and fun to watch as well, it’s entertainment.
I appreciate seeing fine quality pieces. Thanks for sharing. I agree that saving for a dupe would elevate the feel and enjoyment factor, but my grandsons would be too hard on them.
I’ve got wind that a lot of suppliers are having a hard time with their inventory! Oviedo is great and I’m sure I’ll get it back in soon! So glad you like it🙂🙂🙂😘
Yes more of these please! It is a great teaching tool. You are awakinging me so many design styles that it is actually helping me to narrow down exactly what I Really like versus what I’ve just grown up with in my region of the country.
My Roche Bobois is the Salvation Army resale store! No joke here…..look at used furniture stores, Facebook Marketplace and your local Craigslist for design choices. You will be shocked how nice some castoffs are.
Cynthia!!! You already know that GROOVY is my FAVE WORD EVER!!! 🤩🤩🤩👏🏼 AHH thank you so much for this sweet comment and for being part of this AMAZING community!!! 🥰😘💖💖
Your editor is amazing. They take a simple design class and jazz it up with illustrations and movement. I love the smoking cigar!! This is how a video should be done.
I just wish you got excited😂😂😂! Wowsers I love your passion and enthusiasm! You’re running in your lane girl and we’re all blessed because of it! Thanks so much for your channel!
Yay! Loved the ideas 💡! I’m on your good side- I’m a SUBSCRIBER 😂👍🏻! How about the Wayfair, Joss and Main, and Birch Lane (all same stuff for sale - just different names) middle class folks like me? 🤔 Even some of the designer dupes were still tooo expensive for me.
Girl I think I speak for all of us when I say that as much as we appreciate it- we be shoppin at Ross and TJ Maxx and our "luxury" is Target You got some Home Goods budget dupes??
Well… I am working on doing a super Duper video to come out in the next month or so that I think will be exactly what you’re talking about so keep on watching I’ll make sure I get that out to you guys
😄 I watch way too many of your videos to not be subscribed. I subscribed when I found you earlier this year. Good on you for mentioning. You provide so much value it would be nice if more people subscribed. I like the series; please keep it up. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.
Yay!!!!! 🙂🙌🏻😘🥰🥳🎉 you are soooo welcome! Keep on watching and make sure to get onto my DesignClub email list at www.lisaholtdesign.com ... it’s going to be the best design resource site online! 🥳🥰
Love this series Lisa! It is so helpful to learn about the classics and the finishes you recommend. Those dupes are excellent! I almost bought the tulip table for my kitchen but thought people would think I was too far out. Now I wish I had😀love your channel.
Hello from Virginia and thank you so much Lisa! I recently found your channel and I couldn't help myself at this point I have watched every video and signed up for your design club! So grateful for your content. Would you consider making a video about a transitional style inspired by Georgian interiors with a modern twist? Lots of brick center hall colonial type homes here in VA and I bet a transitional British inspired video (like your French modern transitional video) would be super helpful and interesting. Thanks for considering and regardless thank you so much for the content. I'm learning so much!
Sounds like a great idea and I will definitely put it on our list to do sometime down the road. Tomorrow I’m actually releasing a video on the farmhouse styles so if you like style videos you should find that interesting. Thank you so much for subscribing to the channel, commenting and even getting onto the design club email list.🙂🙂😘👍🏼
You can get a tulip table at Room & Board called the Aria that has several top options, including quartz that looks like marble. The price is also very reasonable. I find it's great for small kitchens that need a bit more counter space.
YAY! So glad to know I’ve helped! It’s so much fun answering peoples’ questions! Have you joined the list for the DesignCLUB yet? I think you’ll love it, we’ll livestream Q&A’s, deep dive and give lots of pro tips all about design, great for if you've got a project coming up!
Awww Lisa, LOVE the name 😉 It's people like you that make me love what I do best!! Thank you for all your support on the channel... it means the WORLD!!!! 🌎💙
Always enjoy your videos. You’re very talented. I like videos that I can relate because I don’t make huge salary but I love beautiful and functional furniture in my humble home🥰❤️👍💐
Lol!!! I use a lot of unique descriptor words... and groovy, sexy, bananas, intentional, delicious 😋 are just a few!!! My editor LOVES it when I go word crazy!!! 😀😘
Thanks Lisa, checked everything out before hand so felt very prepared. Your format is wonderful. Your enthusiasm sets me up for the whole week and if you could bottle it you would be a millionaire many times over! Gotta say you are looking fabulous.
I love, that here are so many others, that think the same way like I do. I love her ides and her spirited personality! and so many are saying the same thing! I hope, she will keep her chanel for a long time and will continue to provide us with more informative and fun videos!
Well I’m blushing now hard!!!! 😊😊😊😊 thank you guys and I’m going to be around for a long time!!! Already 35 years designing and I’m loving this next phase even more!
I love love love your new series! My request for a future episode is: could you please show dupes for a whole room, giving a different style of room for each episode? My style is a combination of coastal/nautical and farmhouse… not sure if that even exists, but we are a Navy family living in a beautiful lake/country setting ;-) Thanks for your great ideas and for being so much fun to watch!
I must apologize for being part of the 78%... but no longer!!! New subscriber! I have been binge-watching all of your videos. I am closing on a new home next Friday and can't wait to use so many of your tips!
I just found your videos and they are really helpful. I appreciate that you post such great tips for free; I wish I could afford a designer. Keep up the great work🤩
Hi Heather! I'm so glad you're joining us! Have you joined the list for the Design Club yet? Well I can’t work with you personally one on one, however the entire reason I’m starting the new design club is to give you guys access to me and the team and all of my resources so that I can help coach you through the process. Make sure to get onto my email list so I can tell you when the design club launch at www.lisaholtdesign.com 🙌🏻🎉🙂
@@LisaHoltDesign Thanks Lisa. While I've been scrambling and figuring out how to design my space, I figure u can probably look at it and have a design plan in your head in a flash. I, on the other hand need your videos and I can watch them all day!!! I'm finishing my L-shape kitchen remodel then I move in. But will continue to work on the place I'm sure for a while $$$$. :) Love all your tips and history lessons on furniture and how you bring an elegant element of design to all us novices.!!!!
Great! This week I’m gonna be talking all about farmhouse and what’s going down with that style in recent years… Not sure if that’s your style but you may find it interesting! 🙂
This is a great series. It is very helpful to hear what features or lines make the classic piece so special and then you understand why the dupe gets you great look for less money. I have learned so much for you. I am subscribed and signed up on your website for design club.
