Hello doc. I'm 15 years old and had my lower wisdom tooth extracted 5 months ago. I still feel the numbness in my lower lip and surrounding area. I believe my dentist is really skillful and experienced but, I'm scared. Will I get the sensation back? I was given Amoxicillin and a general painkiller for a week after the extraction. I really need your advice. Should I take any meds? Or will doing some buccal exercises do the trick?? It would really be helpful if you answer.
Hey Varshini, sorry to hear that you are having numbness. I'm not sure about your case but there is a small percentage of cases that do result in numbness. It's hard to determine if yours could have been prevented. However, go back to the dentist who did the treatment and ask him/her what he/she can do. Typically a steroid like a Medrol does pak can help. If they aren't sure, ask the doctor for a referral to a dental nerve specialist for a consultation.
@@jaredwdds6884 Is there any other non steroid I can take??Thank you! I really mean it. Wishing you for greater success in the coming years. You're a cool and awesome doctor. Thanks again.

Sorry that you are having numbness. Someuit can take up to 6-12 months to regain feeling after surgery. Ask your doctor is there any medications you can take like steroids to lessen the numbers or Vitamin B. Stay encouraged 🙏
@@jaredwdds6884 one more question can this paresthesia possibly move to other parts of body such as arms n legs ? If left untreated for extended amounts of time.
