Nice video, man! Brings back the fun memories of doing mine. I feel like the worst part was setting up the cameras to show people what the hell I was doing. Haha
I just can't get the damn transmission back in the car, IDK how you guys were able to get it done so easy. Been stuck trying to get it installed for almost a full day at this point now, it just doesn't want to go in
Great stuff brother! Really appreciate you documenting all the hard work. Have a V35/G35 coupe I'm looking to swap over. Guessing the fuse box wiring is pretty much the same, but will double check first. Any dash lights like a CEL or A/T Trans Check light on after the swap?
Had a quick look. yes wiring diagrams show different. looks like Plug E7 pin 26 for transmission control module (AUTO) and if you want to wire the clutch safety switch will be Plug E7 pin 25. Please double check that all before you start wiring.
this is great stuff Braydon! i was looking for info for RHD and couldn't find anything under 'FAIRLADY' maybe you might want to change the title to add RHD or FAIRLADY so people can relate to your vid! Also who does the speedo work if nothing is plugged onto the transmission?
hello i have RHD and im kind of stuck on the clutch line part, can i just buy the regular hard clutch lines because i don't know if it varies from LHD and RHD. also the transmission mount. do i need to do modification for the automatic transmission mount to fit the manual transmission?. thank you
yeah i just used factory hardlines. can always make your on if you have the tools. can use the factory manual gearbox mount or again make your on if you have the tools.
nice video, learned from your video and almost made it the end. I’m on the IPDM stage, my fuel pump works but no crank, did you have an issue like this?
@@stallionz88hi, my car also takes a long time to start and runs in emergency mode. There is an error code 0335 - crankshaft sensor, but replacing it will not solve the problem. did you manage to solve this?
Yes I got the Transmission light come up even when clearing codes it still stays as you havnt plugged anything in. Still runs and drives fine just got the light on dash
Hey I have done a video where i breakdown the cost and how I do it so cheap. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-J6HhFCDVOSc.html Other wise it was $660AUD to get the car running.
Well since its an old video I assume was not getting any response, yea it did indeed work g35 has different color wire but its the same thing thanks good video !!
@@juanrafaelromero3487 Yeah sorry for late response dont check this account that much. I wouldn't now if it works with a G35. glade you where able to get it to work.
I did the same conversation but I’m having problems when I get into neutral and my car start to die at soon as I get out of gear coming to a stop :( can anyone help please 🙏
Sweet Baby Jesus, how does anyone deal with the top dipstick bolt and top two bellhousing bolts? What specific tools did you use? I strongly suspect a different length extension (between the lengths I had in my toolbox) would have helped with the top dipstick bolt. I'm still trying to break the top bellhousing bolts loose - not much room to turn a wrench or swing a hammer but I've been tapping a box wrench with a 4lb hammer to no effect and I can't fit a cheater bar into the space.
It should still work as long you wire up the clutch safety switch (press clutch down to start) or wiring constant power to pin 45 on plug E8 in the IPDM
@@braydonkinnear I appreciate you getting back to me definitely helped me on this manual swap ‼ I ended up using auto ecu / harness , car turns on but its alil jumpy and struggles to stay on and to get it to move I have to put the car in gear then start it could it be cam sensor ? Not letting me switch gears ? Or turning off when I change it to another gear ?
@@juniormorales3330 I have never had the problem or even heard of it doing that after a manual swap. Can you plug in a OBD reader and see if there is any codes coming up to help get the problem sorted.
You will have to take the manual plug for the gearbox off the manual wiring harness, then cut and solder to fit where the auto plug for auto gearbox is on the auto wiring harness. it sounds confusing but is simple. There are a few forums on how to do it.
@@braydonkinnear okay thank you btw have you got the car tuned? and did they have any problems with the cruise control set like blinking with you then it on since i know you use cruise control button to switch maps
@@Roach_317which yours is yours? People saying I cant tune my 03 sedan and can’t take out the codes. If I wanted to do the swap I’ll need the engine harness body harness ecu for no codes etc
I haven't found anyway to get them to work. I know if you do wire then plug to the manual gearbox you get cruise control back, not 100% sure if you get reverse lights.
@Braydon Kinnear thank you for the reply Mr Braydon. I found this at a thread/forum. What's your opinion on this person approach on making the reverse light work? After watching your vid, i wanna do the swap my self. One of the best one out there " It’s very simple! All you have to do is remove the reverse light relay located in the fuse box at the battery cover and jump the terminals and wire it to your transmission reverse switch. Get yourself a reverse connector for the transmission and solder the jumper wires. No need to worry for any blown fuse because once connected properly the reverse light will be operated by the switch in the trans."
That car still drives perfect today with zero problems. Here in Western Australia manual 350z are around $18k and go up to about $25k. where autos are around $12k and max I have seen is $15K. I brought that silver 350z and a wrecked manual 350z both cost me under $7k
@@Mrkevi123or maybe some people don't plan on selling a car they built so they don't care about "resale value" cause they're keeping it till the chassis done for. You sound like someone with soft ass hands
What did you do about the connections from the transmission I bought a cd09 transmission there’s like 2 connectors hanging out of it but they do not fit my connectors that were already in the car !!!! I been driving around without them being plug does that affects anything and what are they for?
