Yea huge mis information. The more you talk the more the other person on the other end is just shaking their head no. That’s the reality. They get 50-100 calls every day and as a broker we have to accept the reality that there is a very small chance we will “knock their socks off” with an incredible sales pitch. Respect for their time with a concise ask, and that will stand out more than long winded, non genuine sales pitch every day of the week.

I’m sorry, but a prospect giving you their email is just a way to get you off the phone. You better push for more than that unless we are just doing a training wheels exercise here. Unfortunately, it is just too hard to get them on the phone regularly unless we are calling small operations. I do appreciate that you’re trying to help newcomers. Freight cold calling isn’t easy because we are all essentially providing the same service and just trying to convince that we’re the best option. That takes rapport, which takes time on the phone.
@freightskills
@freightskills Год назад
Every intention is to get you off the phone but I would estimate 85% of shippers don’t want to deal with anything but email today so getting an email is the first step to building the rapport. Shippers aren’t giving their email out to every single broker that calls a lot of it is just timing and luck too. We’ve won loads the same day an initial cold call was made and sometimes it takes 6 months so it’s not necessarily who is the best at building rapport. Just a matter of right place, right time. That’s why call volume is as important as call quality
