I use the XL today on a 4000 lb travel trailer, it worked ok, but it's scary on an incline. Definitely put the chucks in front and also lower your stabilizers closer to the ground, just in case something fails in that s*** starts rolling down on you

My driveway has a maybe 5 foot long incline or 7-8 degrees. It gets REALLY hard to crank up.

I have a 1,600lb boat trailer and the XL wheels just spin when my trailer tires reach the 1inch garage lip. No, momentum will not push it over the lip and would be dangerous. I have no way to add more weight to the wheels to keep them from spinning.

Not a realistic demo for a trailer already starting on an incline, where the wheels are already starting out higher than the tongue. Gravity carries the weight toward the tongue, making it much more difficult to crank up the drive. The weight will bear down on the Valet, and you WILL feel this as you crank. If you forget your hand placement on the brake, or let up force on the crank, the trailer could take off before you can recover. I only say this because it’s happened to me, thankfully we were using chocks and it only fell a foot down the drive. Definitely good advice this gentleman gives: use chocks! That said, I adore our 5X Valet. I can maneuver our 3000# camper flush against the wall in our garage with ease. It’s also served as a second jack when we need to weigh our tongue. Don’t know what we’d do without it!

@@djmydlack I personally wouldn’t try it, the valet isn’t made for this purpose. The brake is not automatic and takes some maneuvering to engage, which can be a challenge when gravity from an incline is a factor However I’ve seen a RU-vidr using one with a winch in conjunction (for added safety and power) to pull his toy hauler camper up his angled driveway tongue first so he could load/unload the back easier. Complicated procedure but it worked well for him

Let's say you used the XL to move a 6,000 lb trailer up a 2-4 degree incline driveway into a garage. Could you then use it to go back down the incline? Or does it only work going up the incline?

Can you please tell me will the XL works as easily and as effectively on loose pebbled driveway (which I have)? If not would retrofit of the 5X pneumatic tyres on the XL help this situation (such that tyre pressure can be altered to compensate for loose pebble)?.... or have you consider Chevon style tread (tractor) tyres as an alternative option for the XL (for loose pebble driveways such as mine)? My problem is that the tires just spin out when trying to use the 5x to move the trailer (less than 2k lbs) up a hill into storage ,,,super frustrating as it removing the tread from the tire as it is concrete where the tires spin out.

What limits in degrees incline do you recommend on pulling uphill and backing downhill with the XL?

Is XL appropriate for backing a 5,000lb trailer up a 6deg concrete driveway?

Hello ! The XL unit can handle up to 10,000 lbs trailer weight and can hold 1,000 lbs tongue weight. It can certainly go up a 6 degree incline. Please be aware that you can only push your trailer up the incline and to also be aware to only use the crank handle while doing so. @@TrailerValet why can't you use a drill on an incline--is it for safety or strain on the drill? ( I have a dual battery 1/2" right angle drill which should have plenty of torque...)

The video should be how to back your trailer up a small bump. Instead of trying to make it sound like it works in an incline. If you search you will see that this does NOT work on an incline. And is probably why there are several video about these breaking. It’s Very misleading.
