Alex!! Why didn't I see this video before our trip?! I brought a huge suitcase, brought EVERYTHING and of course it was overweight (I've burned my husband with this before and this time he bought a luggage scale!) I would say over 50% of what I brought - I didn't touch or use the entire time of our trip. It would have been a way better idea to bring what I needed and do laundry if necessary while on vacation. Our prior trip the airline lost our luggage and that was so stressful. We were lucky this time but we waited forever for our baggage on the belt. A carryon is a much better idea haha! Taking pictures of your outfit is such a great idea! :) So happy we found your channel!!

😅I can totally relate. I've been there way too many times! I used to always pack too many clothes that I never ended wearing. At first it was hard for me to cut down on my packing list but after a while I got the hang of it. I find that planning out my outfits ahead of time has been the best way to do it. That way I only pack what I need. So glad you like the video! Thanks for watching. ❤

Thanks for this video content. I enjoy your videos, so smart and useful! One of my newer tips (goes in my TSA 3-1-1 quart bag...) is a 2 ounces travel spray bottle filled with Downy Wrinkle Releaser, which is also a fabric refresher. (Filled from a full-sized spray bottle of it...😊

The problem I run into when trying to pack, even in a checked bag, is the toiletries needed (even though I pare down) and then outfits for a warm weather destination. I find I need a couple outfits for each day due to getting sweaty! That leads to lots of dirty laundry to bring back, too.

Yes it can be quite challenging to fit everything in a carry on especially during the winter months when packing bulkier pieces of clothing. Check-out my video on packing a carry-on during the winter months : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lyfzgsfeoUA.html. I give loads of suggestions there. For toiletries, the best trick I found was using a couple of contact lens containers to store my creams and lotions. Surprisingly, I can fit a good amount of product in those (at least a week's worth of cream). It cuts down the amount of space it takes in my liquid bag so I can pack more in there. I also opt for cleansing wipes to remove my makeup. This really helps save space in my toiletry bag. I also save up any sample sized products that I get so that I can use those when traveling. I also travel with Detergent Packets to be able to wash clothes on the go: amzn.to/3l2ELNO (Amazon link). This has really helped me on my travels, especially for undergarments, socks, or t-shirts. Pants/shorts can be worn over and over, but tops need a wash after a day or two. Hope that helps! 👍

Hi Mary! Thank you very much for the nice comment. To answer your question, I do use an outfit planning app called Stylebook, but I have also used Smart Closet in the past. Both are excellent apps for around $3.99. They both feature a calendar to add looks or items on specific days. If not there is also an app called Save Your Wardrobe which is free so if you want to try that one out first to see if you enjoy using an app like this before you purchase one. Hope that helped! ;)
