Your videos are so informative. I like that you're showing all of the prep work and discussing it in easy to understand terminology for us "novices". Keep up the great work!!
PHARRAWAY - I watched your video for the first time and about had a stroke! Your spray technique melted every VOTECH instructor and “Pro” painter’s face lol 😂. I would never be able to spray panels using that pattern. It works for you and the proof is in the pudding, the end result is all that is important and it looks good to me 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼.
I don't know why you don't already have over a million subscribers yet. You're that GOOD my friend!!! Take care and God Bless, I'm a new subscriber just try'n to watch some of your videos when I have time. 👍👍
@pharraway I have a fender for a bike I wanna paint but it has graphics on it that has pinstripes on it and I don’t want them burning back thru my paint job. Any clue how I should handle that? Last time I dealt with fiberglass I cut into the gelcoat
Subscribed I see your way Beyond 30,000 now at 110000. Appreciate the lesson I have been practicing my painting on a couple Farm vehicles. Working up to painting my airplane which I am building out of S Glass. I have been filling and smoothing using microballoons since it's lighter and easier to sand then the epoxy resin alone. I did watch your pedal car video. I plan on painting this bush plane in metal flake, candy, and some Pearl fades. Green on top, purple on the sides, blue underneath. Lace top and bottom of the Wings. I will also be stenciling some country scenes. I still have practicing to do! LOL It looks as though my target weight of under 500 lb empty will be made. Has a 30 ft wingspan, Bush tires, and a 2300 type 1 eng. I have built it to look like an old hot rod complete with side pipes, suicide doors, and even a hilborn scoop that feeds two AMR 500 superchargers. Needless to say it isn't easy building something like this and keep it lite. Thanks again
ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO; YOU DO A GREAT JOB; I HAVE SIMILAR SITUATION WHEREAS I AM REPAIRING "SPIDER STRESS CRACKS ON A RV; THE REAR AND FRONT CAPS ARE FIBERGLASS WITH A" GELCOAT FINISH; MY PLAN IS TO SAND THE GELCOAT DOWN AND USE A" MARINE GRADE FILLER" SPRAY A 2K URETHANE PRIMER (3 COATS) AND FINISH OFF THE REPAIR USING A "SINGLE STAGE URETHANE PAINT; IF YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE OR SUGGESTIONS THEY WOULD BE APPRECIATED, THANK YOU, PATRICK.P
Hey brother im prepping a fiberglass rear end for my bike. Its going to be a bagger so what kind of gun you recommend? do i follow the same steps when prepping? BTW this was an awesome video!
Hey man awesome vid! Quick question tho, the clear coat on my fiber glass hood is peeling off and i was already thinking of painting it a different color. Would i just sand the clear coat off and paint from there or is there other steps i have to do?
In all the videos I watch, I don’t understand the guide coat? Just seems like they spray it on and it all looks the same... splotchy..How can you tell if a spot is high, does it really make it that much easier? Hard to tell
what was the product that you used as a guide coat? Also did you spray the guide coat every time you sanded or did you just spray the guide coat one time and sanded.
Just a few questions seeing your dealing with fiberglass. Is that a special paint or normal vehicle paint. I have a Boler trailer (old guy - dont know how to add a picture so you may have to google it to see what I am dealing with.). Its like a bubble trailer. All made from fiberglass. Would this technique work on painting it do you think? Its is a 72. Living in Canada so brutal winters and semi-hot summers. Any assistance or advise would be most welcome. Love your channel. Great work. Thank you.
quick question bro, if I use all kandy wet wet on the cab of my truck and then use SPI universal clear for a couple panels like hood and fenders will it look weird? The reason I'm asking this is because I have some wet wet left that I would like to use up.
Awesome was waiting for your next video I have a question for you the rim's did you also paint inside of wheel s at the back as mine is silver and will be painting the wheels on my pick up truck soon and also sometime in the future that's if you can wouldn't mine seeing a video on paint reaction as have just had one on my clear thanks brother always great to see you in action again
Another great job...can't wait for you to finish the truck...did you get oil or something on the hood you used acetone? I'm always learning something new from watching your videos keep up the hard work...Thanks for the content.
Ok my friend need some advice bought a used fiberglass hood it was never properly finished someone just spray bombed it black what is the best thing to use to remove the paint so the paint shop dont have a mess to clean off before they start glazing and painting it correctly ?
