It's funny to use rattle cans I guess. But, I've dipped two cars here at the house with a pro spray system and they turned out great. I'm in no way affiliated with DYC, but they took great care of me and attention to my projects. Made for a funny video though.

For anyone judging plastidip off of this there are a few things to note. You are supposed to take the tape off while your last coat is still wet. A spray gun would have made it look much better as he said. Rattle cans aren't great for large surfaces but fine for wheels.

I've used those plastidip cans to paint an SUV before and the only way to get clean lines when removing the tape is to spray plastidip right where the paint and tape meet and pull it off immediately otherwise it will happen as it did on your video.

Mikey Barker lmao a "turbine air system" 😂😂 the only failure here is you. Nobody is promoting anything. Just giving him advice from personal experience. Nobody said you could get a perfect paint job from aerosol cans, it's basically impossible. They are great for small details, maybe some stripes, changing logo colors, painting rims etc.... don't be so closed minded next time buddy.

as a painter a tip for next time when you lay plastic over windows make sure they lay nice and flat huge wrinkles or folds in the plastic can cause the material to bounce off and create more overspray

Most people don't get the actual marketing strategy behind the entire set up: 1. VV + DYC brainstorm about a collaboration with most potential to go viral. 2. VV creates video that looks like they have no clue and could be interpreted as diss towards DYC (which DYC fans would react very harsh to). => Potential for some added attention 3. DYC creates video debunking VVs. => Potential for tons more attention 4. VV creates "sorry" video explaining how their first video might have been misinterpreted. 5. Hope that no one realizes that fans were just set up in a play.

Tavarish did this and they told him you peel the tape off while the plastidip is still wet. That way your tape peels off cleanly. You should go watch that video. It was about 3 months ago.

I am not a subbie, never would be simply because it's obvious you do not care about doing the right thing by a brand and you are only worried about getting views. There is not one thing in this video that is correct about how to CORRECTLY plastidip your car, shame on you, take this video down and say sorry to the company for making their product look bad when it was you who didn't follow things correctly as to why it turned out not great.

Redo the video. Use white as a base coat so when you spray the blaze pink it stands out a lot. Then use a clear coat so it looks better.

DYC sent me here out of curiosity. Can't help but thinking this is a wealthy guy just having a bit of a laugh which he knows will "rattle" people up by doing it all wrong on purpose and sure he knows that this product won't damage a freakin' expensive car!
