I love dealing Tournament, not a fan of dealing cash game but wish my casino offered Omaha, Stud ect not just Holdem in both tournament and cash games

im confused about the betting minimum. I get the1st bet basically has to be at least the BB. So does every bet after have to be the previous bet plus, at least, the BB amount, or does it have to be double the previous bet. So for example the flop comes. 1st guy bets the minimum of 1 bb. The next guy bets 2 bb plus 4 bb. Does the next guy have to bet a minimum of 6 bb + 2 bb or 6 bb + 8 bb ( because the previous guy raised 4 bb) Does he have to double the previous bet or just match it plus a minumum of 2 bb? Sounds confusing i know.

You have to raise at least the previous raise. So if UTG for example raises to 4 bb (1 bb call + 3 bb raise), UTG+1 has to raise to at least 7 bb (4bb call + 3 bb raise). If UTG+1 decides to raise to 10 bb instead (4 bb call + 6 bb raise), the next player who wants to raise has to put in 16 bb at least (4 bb UTG + 6 bb UTG+1 raise + 6 bb own raise). I hope my description is understandable lol.

Depends on the tournament. Different rooms will pay out differently. Some pay 1 in 6 places, some pay 1 in 10. Others may have some other structure, but it's all clearly laid out before the tournament starts, usually as a percentage of the total pool. If 60 people enter a 1 in 6, then 10 people will win at least their entry fee back. If 60 people enter a 1 in 10, then only 6 people cash. They'll announce the actual prize amounts after registration closes. Some tournaments are Satellite tournaments into bigger games. Say your place has a 1000 entry fee tournament every Saturday. Leading up to that tournament, they may offer 100 satellites. If 10 people enter a satellite, then the winner gets a seat in the 1000 game. If 20 enter, the top 2 get seats. If there's an odd number, they'll usually make a cash payout to the last non-winner, because it's not enough to buy a seat in the bigger game.

Question: 27:28 if you were to only put in 100 and the minimum bet is 400, due to the 50 percent rule, you would be forced to check? Is that correct? If you were to put in 200, and the minimum bet was 400, you would be forced to call, due to the same rule... Correct? I've just learnt about this 50 percent rule and would like you to ask Josh if you could. Thanks!

In that instance your options would be to either leave the 100 in and fold, or make the proper bet of 400

@@coloruppoker the 50% rule states that if you put a bet out that is at least 50% more than the last bet then you must raise the minimum. If it’s less than 50% you can only call, or fold and leave the chips in the pot. E.g., someone bets 400 and you were unaware of the bet and you put out 600. Because it’s at least 50% more than the 400 bet you now have to raise to 800. You can also fold & leave the 600 in the pot too. If someone bets 400 and you put out 500, because it’s less than 50% you can only call.
