Just watched. Great info. Was afraid to plug in my camcorder until you showed where and how to confirm voltage. Phew.

Can you please touch on this- I will be renting a car in ireland for two weeks and spending a lot of time in there. What kind of adaptor will I need in that case ?

Hi! Car adapters are no different in Ireland. Just use your regular cigarette adapter or usb cord if there is one in the rental car.

So do the watts make no difference?

Not typically, the Watts is the amount of power used by the device itself once it is plugged in to a power source and this can vary a lot depending on how hungry your device is. So what you need to look at is the source of the power coming from the outlet, which is rated in Volts. Then, you'll need to see if your device can accept only 110 volts (Standard US/Canadian power) or, if can it accept a range (typically between 100 - 240 volts). If it can accept a range covering the area you are traveling too (100 - 240 should cover most of the world), then all you'll need is an outlet adaptor (outlets have different shapes in other countries). If it can only take one voltage type, then you'll need a transformer/converter to adjust the voltage to match your device.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my question. After watching your video about 10 times over I finally started to understand things a little better. Thank you again.
