I keep an eye on GOES 16 satellite imagery for where I live. Generally, I check 3 things. 1) the proximity of the clouds 2) their height (GOES has a "Cirrus" band, 4, that picks up mainly high level clouds) and I compare it with other visible bands 1, 2, 3, and 5 to see if low clouds will block anything and 3) whether or not there are any significant weather features further west that might prematurely darken a good sunset... I've had multiple sunsets cut short before they peak in color by thunderstorms >300 miles away. Most nights I can't get out, but I'll still look at the imagery wishing I could be places 100s of miles away where I'm almost certain their seeing beautiful skies by what I see on satellite.

Iv been using windy for a couple of years now, I also do a lot of sea fishing and rely on this Awesome App to show me the sea state and elevations and sat view, Really super cool, Excellent video and Really Enjoyed....

Hi Matt, random question, will a time-lapse shot on a mk2 6D in video mode (holy grail, I know its not the same as individual raw shots) go through LRtimelapse software ? It doesn't do a bad job for an automated version, as you know, just would like to de-flicker a touch but don't want to buy the software without knowing as I'm poor 😁
