I show you the setup I have, to make sure I vent out all the VOCs and Formaldehyde from printing materials such ABS and ASA on my Bambu X1 Carbon.
Below are the links to purchase the items you see in the video. Email me at cliffshowto@yahoo.com for the stl files for the window vent cap, and the flange to go on the PC fan.
If you don't want to email me, you can also download the files here:

Shit that's a great idea with the grow tent around it. Thanks!

OH... one more question. I was considering putting the printer in a closet and venting into my attic. Wondering if this would be a terrible idea.

I have my X1C in a closet. I am installing a bathroom fan (attic exhaust) in the closet.

Sounds like that would work as well!

Does the fan create a draft that causes your ASA print to warp? Or have layer adhesion issues?
@CliffsHowTo

Negative. I leave the zipper undone about an inch, so that air can go around the printer, and pull fresh air in, and the fumes out the window. The air doesn’t go through the printer enclosure, or affect that in any way.

What has been your experience printing with ASA in the X1C. I have been apprehensive because of the fumes (this obviously solves it). Do you feel like it may have an effect on the wear and tear of the machine? Are you having to clean it constantly because of the residue? I am almost thinking of purchasing a second machine just for ASA printing... hmmm.. Thanks!

Hello, I’m sure that at some level it would increase the wear on the printer, due to the caustic fumes. I added a bento box to help filter the air inside the printer. I did notice a LOT of buildup inside the enclosure from printing with ASA. I’m sure that’s getting into the grease, and would likely (eventually) affect the surface of the metal parts. As far a how the x1c does with the material, I feel it does a great job. Prints one out looking great. My only complaint is that if the part has a lot of contact area with the print bed, there will be a little upward curvature of the part in that bottom edge. I would not vent to the attic, because that would likely seep down into the insulation and/or walls. I did 1 print with this machine with ASA before adding the enclosure, and I’m telling you, it was BAD! I couldn’t go into that room, even while holding my breath! The fumes were just terrible! My eyes would begin to burn immediately!

Looks cool!! How did you connect the pc fan to the top of the enclosure?

I used the screws provided with the fan. Just poked holes in the enclosure, put the screw through the flange I printed, and threaded into the fan.

do you have mesh on that to prevent bugs coming in
@CliffsHowTo

There’s mesh on the window insert part, where it goes outside. Also, I disconnect the vent, and put a cap on it, when the fan isn’t going,

Check out the Bento box, the X1C enclosure is sufficient to contain VOC's. The Bento Box just filters the air by cycling it throughout.

I had the vent going from the back fan on the printer, out the window. Did an 11 hour print, and couldn’t even walk into the room! That’s when I came up with the enclosure option.

Why not upload to Printables? Get some prusameters and eventually maybe earn a roll of filament.

I think you mean abs. ASA should under No circumstances release unhealthy fumes. I have my 3d printer in my room and I often print ASA. Never Had any Kind of headache or felt unwell, even with multiple days of nonstop printing. Either your hotend geht's too hot or the Filament is Not pure ASA, but some mixture instead,

I did an 11 hour print with the dryer vent connected to the back of the X1, and out the window. I’m telling you, I couldn’t walk into that room with while holding my breath it was so bad! That’s using Flashforge ASA, standard X1 ASA settings.

The presence of styrene in ASA is what releases the VOC's when printing. The S in ASA stands for styrene, so yes even "pure" ASA will release dangerous fumes.

VOCs/Styrene are only carcinogenic in concentrations over 50ppm. Also VOCs like styrene react or precipitate rather quickly. So no...
