WOW! I am in shock how easy this is. I purchase a new key from FORD. They cut the key and told me, check youtube on how to program the key. I did it and BUM! so easy! Thanks for sharing! Great video!
@@cirrus820travelers9I payed $39 on Amazon after shipping for two keys, got both of them cut at Home Depot for $9 and programmed them myself. I had to get new keys because the oem ford keys break out of the plastic
If key starts the vehicle but does not works on the door locks: you will need 3 keys total: 2 fully working keys and follow this to make the 3rd key work on the door locks if it only works currently on the ignition. follow this: press unlock on drivers door, insert original programmed key 1 in ignition cycle key off and on 8 times in 10 seconds. On the 8th time leave key1 in on position. You will hear the door locks cycle. On key 2 already programmed key hit unlock or lock button. Now press unlock or lock on key 3 and it should now be programmed, now hit unlock on key1 and then turn key 1 to off position within 20 seconds. boom it works 💪
Andy Pell thank you for the above information. My 2012 diesel lariat started ok but no buttons worked. The eight on/off you posted above got door locks working. The I guessed at getting my remote start to work. I first hit the horn button on fob. Horn on/off. Then my remote start worked. I got two new Factory fobs on Amazon $29.95. Cut at Ace Hardware $5.38. Then. Programmed. My first factory key I had repaired the board two times. Then all buttons stopped working. It still started the truck so system did see two factory keys. Then I found tgr truck would only program one new key. Three keys total. I removed battery from bad fob and was able to program second new key. Three keys all working like factory admin keys.
Ive read that if you have remote start you can use that as one key. Remote start and hit brake before it starts counts as one key turn and then use the actual key. Dont know if it works but will try this week.
@@Skankhunt19 I had to have one made and the original was too far gone. I was going to try it but the place said they would program the second one for free. I told him about using the remote and he said it wouldn't work, "I'll just go ahead and do it for free".
Only have one remote key fob. The spare "vallet" key made at dealer does not have any functions. Do I use both those keys or must I go to have new key programmed?
Im not 100% sure on that but I believe as long as both of the keys you have start and run the vehicle that you can program a third yourself - even with one being a valet key.
@@adampitre7475 I did the same thing and mine was same way so I just now found the correct way and it’s the same as his but it’s 8 times to the on position.
use the method for a 2006 ford truck where you turn to Run 8 times within 10 seconds, leaving it in the Run Position then press a button on the new remote that needs to be programmed. That should program the fob to lock/unlock you truck m
