Dude, you are a lifesaver. I installed remote start on my F150 and all the instructions worked for the ignition but buttons didn't work. Your method saved me a trip to the dealer. Thank you!
YOU ARE A LIFE SAVOR!!!! I disconnected the battery and everything reset so a single press of the lock was locking it but making it honk and unlocking it by pressing it once made it honk twice. Now this fixed it and works correctly! 1 lock on remote with key locks the car and two quick presses locks and chirps. 1 unlock unlocks the driver door and two quick unlock presses unlocks all doors with no chirp!!
I brought two key fobs from Amazon and I followed the steps and it worked and I’m so glad to work. The key fob to key fob on Amazon was like $25. I also paid seven dollars to get maybe eight dollars to get each key cut from Amazon so maybe a total of $35 maybe more However they was going to charge me maybe $100 just the program the each key fob or $150 per key + $80 fee to program for each key business so I’m so glad I’ll watched RU-vid thank you again I appreciate it
WOW ! ! ! Thank you so much for posting this video. It works and saved me A LOT of money, I searched in the Ford forums and they had all kinf of programming procedures that required either the 2 original keys or additional equipment and software. Thanks again.
I have to say, I was super skeptical about this process with my 2014 F150. Bought it used a month ago and it only came with 1 key. Ordered a generic all in one Key / FOB with Lock, Unlock, Panic & Remote Start and this process worked 100% and every button on both remotes now works. Did it in 10 seconds in a parking lot waiting for a store to open. Thanks so much for saving me some $$$!
I bought a 2014 F-150 with only one key as well. Ford dealer quoted me $100 for the key & $200 to program it. what a rip off. Ace Hardware quoted me $239 for the key. While talking to him I discovered I have the remote start. I see blank key online for $29.95. How do I get the blade cut? Will any locksmith do it? One I have 2 working key I can get my key pad code.
You're a lifesaver bro! Not only did my key fob start working again but the lift gate on my 2011 Ford Explorer started working again after doing this! 👍
March 4, 2024. Just bought 2 replacement keys off Amazon for a2012 f150. Followed the instructions in the manual to program the starting chip, then followed this video to program the buttons on the fob. Worked mint .Thanks!
Bro thank you so much, this worked easily for my 2014 Ford Explorer. At first it didn’t want to work so what I did was get out the car, lock car with the number pad, unlock the car and try it again with the door open and worked how it should. To program two keys you just need to press the buttons for each fob before you turn the ignition off.
This video is AWESOME, I bought 2 keys off eBay. took them to the dealer to have them programmed, Dealer stated the remote start wont work because they are aftermarket keys and I need to get OEM keys if I want remote start to work. After watching your video I programmed the keys the dealer said would not work. And now both keys work to lock, unlock and remote start my truck. Did I say when I bought my truck it only came with 1 key. Your AWESOME
This just helped me out tremendously! I purchased two keys from a website and the dealership still wanted to charge a ridiculous amount to program them. Found another video that showed how to program both them came to this one to get the fobs to work 😁. Thank you!
Dude, I wanna say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for your help...... I have two Ford vehicles with two brand new key/key-fobs that I ordered. I was quoted $190.00 by the Ford dealership & $165.00 by a locksmith just to program. I greatly appreciate this video. It worked like a charm!!!
2015 explorer w the 5 button key fob style key. Super awesome. This was massively helpful. I programed 3 keys and 2 key fobs just like the one he does in the video. It worked flawlessly. Thanks Bro
Thanks man! Saved my ass! For other watching or going through same issue: My keyfob on the 2013 ford explorer is a key and fob together as it is in the video. the contact joints for the lock and unlock broke. I could unlock the door manually with keys but alarm will go off in 5 seconds unless i go start the car asap! annoying every time and quite embarrassing. seems like im breaking into my own car. Ordered another keyfob on amazon. $50 for a nice modern looking one. Follow the turn key 8 times method and was able to program my key. 1 minute was all it took and now i can unlock and lock with the new fob, attached it to my chain ring and now im good to go. Works great thanks to this video!
I bought 2 new keys for my 2013 f150, got them cut, I programmed them both no problem and the keys worked no issues with security but the fob portion wouldn't. That's how I got here and this process worked no problem, but for some reason I can only get one of the fobs to program. They will both program when you go through the process, but only one of the fobs will stay programmed to be exact. I was thinking about trying to program both new key fobs at the same time but haven't done so as of yet. At any rate this process works for what I needed and I appreciate the info. Thanks!
Little update, if you buy 2 new keys (got mine on Amazon for $38) and you program them yourself and then need to program the fob portion... When you get to the on position for the eighth time and the locks cycle, you can press any button like he says here but do it on both keys separately within 5 seconds of each other.
@@BrandonMingerink I put an update last year, got it figured. Thanks. The issue is I was trying to activate both the fobs at once. You have to do one at a time but within 5 seconds.
@@timk2853 I think my reply was deleted, I was explaining that I had mine cut at a local hardware store. I went on to put a website you can buy the whole kit with your keys already cut. Some channels don't like web addresses in the comments, don't know why really they are still getting the traffic. Anyway if you are having issues check out Car Keys Express.
Bought an aftermarket one for my 2012 Ford explorer. This video got it working asap. I didn't need a ford fob, just some random decent looking one from remotesremotes and it work. Thanks!!!!
THIS VIDEO IS LEGIT. I programmed one for my fiancé’s 2014 Ford Fiesta and it was magnificent! There are other videos saying you need 2 keys or put in 2 fuses, TRY THIS VIDEO FIRST.
Well I tried and it still didn't work. It has a new battery in it too. When I did the 8 turns, and left the key in, the locks did not click as it showed here. Pushed buttons, nope. 🙁 Salesman at the dealership is supposed to be finding out for me.
JordansMom769 and you left the key in the on position, not just in? I just tried this on the 2013 Expedition we got last week and it worked perfectly. And to the person asking about it changing other keys, it doesn’t affect your old key in any way.
thanks man! you rock, most of the guys on youtube trying to do it forgot a very important step, which is to leave the ignition ON once the locks cycle.
You just saved a ford mechanic from being screamed at lol He told me twice i got bad keys and they arent able to program. Watched this video, got my knew keys and remote start to work instantly. THANK YOU!
Bought a 2013 Expedition last week. Ordered a key fob from Amazon for just under $25 that looks exactly like the ones I got with the vehicle, 4 buttons with one being the automatic tailgate button. This method worked perfectly. Thanks!
@@holliecollins1 Sorry, just saw your question. I don’t use my Gmail too much. I just did one, but you can do more than one. It depends on whether your vehicle limits the number of programmed fobs that you can have. My Expedition only allows a total of four.
many thanks dude, 2015 focus had with "key not detected" fault when key turned, wouldnt start. it started right up after following your procedure, all other youtube videos for no key deted fault didnt work for me. thank you so much brother!!!
Thank you very much. I stumbled across your video. I actually had a system start failure on my 2015 f250. I was getting very bummed out. However, my fobs were not working. I did the "8times" trick and that did it. Thanks gor the tip.
That dear Sir was excellent that was brilliant I can come up with enough good words I went and tried it turned eight times real fast it took me two seconds to go out there and program a new key fob from my parents so that you know I don’t wanna keep losing the one only one they got thank you so much guy need more people like you in my videos like this I didn’t world desperately needs it
Thanks for the video! Watched a couple others that stated I would have to take it to a dealer if I only have one key . . . glad that's not true! Thanks and great work!
Worked like goddamn charm!!! I tried on my 2015 Ford Fiesta when the key fob head went bad and it worked. Also it works for fobs already programmed. I used my old mustangs fob which doesn’t run anymore and I use of the fob so don’t worry if you already got one preprogrammed it’ll still work☺️
Old video but it works,i just had a mobile lock smith come out to my house to cut and program a key with the built in fob for a 2010 f150 he got the key cut and programed to start truck but could not get fob to program i called him maybe 15 minutes after he left and told him i got it to work Thanks.....
My 2011 needed a 2nd step: It takes 2 existing working keys. And your NEW key must be cut first at a hardware store or by a locksmith. Step 1) Put the first original key into the ignition lock and turn it to "on" (not start). The gages will light up. Remove that key. Put the 2nd original key into the ignition lock and turn it to "on" (has to be done within 5 - 20 seconds). Remove that key. Put the NEW key into the ignition lock and turn it to "on" (again 5- 20 seconds). Now the NEW key will star the car. Your video only shows how to pair the new fob to the door locks. The ignition interlock is a separate function.
I wanted to say thank you man. My daughter just started driving and we realized we need to have multiple keys for every vehicle so that if somebody is parked behind somebody but not home we can actually move cars around. This way I can have multiple keys for every vehicle for less than 100 box instead of $200 per key.
It works for 2013 Ford Focus as well, just that it will give you beep on 4th time and 8th time, On 8th time press key fob button. Note: It only give beep and wont give sound of unlock and lock on 4th or 8th time like other older car. But once it programmed it will work as expected. : )
AWESOME Job dude! Definitely worked 1st time for me! I have a 2013 Ford Edge LT. Seriously worked the very 1st time I tried it. Thanks buddy. Great instructions and also enjoyed the video. Keep it up! 👍🏻
This worked perfectly. I need to have they key cut now. Does this program only the fob remote? Do you have to program separately for the key to crank the vehicle?
