In this video I will show you how to program an Orbit sprinkler timer. Note: when I was setting the days I forgot to turn Sunday on, this caused the home screen to not show the next start time.

Excellent 😀 One thing I noticed... I realize your timer was already set (and you didn't want to make the changes you show in the video to take effect?) but perhaps it would have been best to mention that your supposed to press the "ENTER" button after dialing in the changes for settings to go into effect... or just by turning the dial... does that automatically make any changes to take effect? Also, you originally selected to have the sprinklers comes on Monday through Saturday (the days had the boxes around them) but then when you moved over to the "Interval' selection you switched it to every 3 days.... would that automatically override the previous selection of Monday - Saturday if you kept it at 3 days?
With the version of orbit timer that this is, changes will take effect even without pressing enter. You can press enter but it’s not necessary. As for watering days if you change it to interval it will nullify any previous settings until you change it back. Hope this helps.

@ 2:04 you say they will run one after another. Does this mean that if one set at 10:00 for 15 min will go off and the next station will automatically go off at 10:15 and the next at 1030? Or are you saying all the stations will all go off at 10:00 at the same time?
Homero Munoz They will not all come on at the same time. If you have one start time at 10:00 and 15 minute run times zone two will start at 10:15 after zone one has finished.
I have a orbit easy timer, I have it set Auto, 3 times a week, start at 10am, run for 30 min on station1 and on A, after the cycle is completed, why does it not shut off but repeats the cycle automatically?
If the cycle repeats that’s because you have more than one start time. Turn the dial to start time and press the right arrow to get to start time two and press clear. Only one start time is required.
Quick question, If I had a program that was set by my gardener but i turned it off and want that same program to run again do I just switch it back to auto and not touch anythin?
If you like the program your gardener set but don’t want it to run at the moment just turn the dial to off. When you want to resume watering just turn the dial back to auto. Turning the dial to off does not affect what your gardener set. Hope this helps.
To water more than one a day: turn dial to start time, you will see your one start time. To add a second, push the right arrow button and you will see four dashes. Use the + and - buttons to enter a second time. To erase a second time use the clear button. hope this helps.
Usually you would just use program A for every “zone”. The reason for program B is is you have a lawn system and a drip system and you want the drip system to run every day and the lawn system three days a week etc.
L Benitez If your sprinklers will not come on manually with the timer go to the valve and open it manually if the sprinklers still do not come on you most likely have a bad valve. If they do your timer or solenoid is bad.
do you know how to reset the station sprinkler? our house previous owner had this set up, but i dont know which station is for which sprinker . and i want to reset up the stations
Turn dial to start times position. Then set the morning start time in position one. Use right arrow to go to position two which should have dashes. Finally press the plus button to set the evening start time.
Orbit Easy timer will shutdown when I use "Manual" option "A", as directed start time, #of mins, days on "B" removed and it stops on #6 Great! ..however if It run's on "Auto" it continues to cycle back to "A" 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 and so forth...I have to turn off???
I believe I followed every step in the video however my sprinklers still did not turn on at the time I set it for. I made sure all the valves were turned on so not sure why the timer isn't turning on the sprinklers
That could be because of many reasons. Make sure that the timer does not say “no ac” on the screen which would indicate that it is not getting power. I would recommend watching a video called something like “testing sprinkler system wiring” by iscaper1. It should help you solve your problem.
Sheila Preston if you are setting watering times or start times, then to switch from am to pm you have to scroll through 12 hours until the am changes to pm or vice versa which takes very long. If you are setting the timers clock them simply press the next or back button to change the am/pm setting.
If you would like to run just one station manually then you need to press the manual button on the timer. Once you press it you need to immediately press the right arrow button until the station number appears on the screen. Once you see it press the plus button to set how many minutes for the manual run and the timer will start watering after that. After the zone runs the timer will return to normal without you having to do anything. Hope this helps.
You probably have the older style orbit timer where there are two sections of the dial. One for A and one for B. In that case I would search for a video detailing that specific type of timer. You would have to program it an entirely different way so that the timer knows which stations belong to A,B, and which belong to both. The manual may be available online if you search orbit 57…. Timer manual.
I just brought a new orbit easy dial and after programming my timer also flashes from the next start time and back to the time. I don't believe this is a normal program procedure. Did you ever resolve your issue?
First thing make sure that the dial is in the auto position and you’re indeed looking at the time of day and not the start time. If that’s correct then it’s time for a factory reset. To do this you will need to hold a pin in the reset hole and then reprogram the entire timer. Hope this helps.
I've done everything in the video, downloaded the manual, but won't start sprinklers. Says "Off Power" in side a raindrop image. What does that mean? Can do sprinklers by hand. All selenoids new. Wiring checked ok. But sprinklers not working.
That sounds like a different timer model. But in any case you should do two things. First check if you are getting 24v from the transformer that is plugged in. If that checks out then you need to do a factory reset on the timer. There should be a small hole to put a paper clip in that will entirely reset the timer. Hope this helps.
@@everythinghomerepair1747 Yep, reset and checked that the 24v was connected. Older model. Will buy new .75 fuse tomorrow and if that doesn't work, guess I'll have to trash it and buy a new one. Thank you!! :)
@@NTP67 Before you buy a new fuse, you can check the old one for continuity with a multi meter. Also if the old fuse is bad make sure there are no shorts in the valve wiring or solenoids. If there are then the new fuse will blow again.
Informative video. But why would I need more than one program? You said it has programs A and B. Isn't just A enough? Oh, and you must be in a warm climate to be watering your lawn in November! Lucky you!
If you have a drip system that you wanted to water every day and lawn system you wanted to water every other day, you would use the B program to do that. Normally program A is all you need.
It could be the budget setting, however the timer in the video does not have one. You may have set the 15 minutes in program B. If it is set to run 9 minutes in program A then that is the reason. If you are getting confused with the settings the best option many be to do a factory reset and then starting over again using the method shown in the video.
@@everythinghomerepair1747 I did a complete reboot and reset everything, but now i have it set for 15 mins, but it runs for 25 mins. This only happens on that station. I replaced the valve and solenoid already. Do you think I need a new timer?
It looks like you have tried everything already. If you are sure the timer has been fully reset and it continues to act sporadically then it is time for a new timer. The model in the video can be purchased for about $30. If you want more features then the timer will be more expensive.
thank you. Good video, I did like you said, but my sprinklers do not turn on and water. They worked a week ago, until a "master inspector" did a home inspection. so I thought if I did the programming like you said they would start working again. NOPE
just TRY to get help from this company...next to impossible! 45 minute wait on phone and all ask an expert links show you another video. Read instructions and they do not cover my Question.
