This is the second home in which ru-vid.comUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU we've replaced our "regular" doorbell with a Ring video doorbell and we really enjoy it. It is very easy to install and it works very well, with a clear picture through the app and good in-home use (we added the chime, which is also easy to install and doesn't require another thought to use).
This video been helpful,to me in deleting known access codes and changing program codes. However, this video has FAILED to mention one very IMPORTANT feature when changing program codes! Unfortunately, due to this omission, I learned the hard way! Always read your manual for FULL instructions! When changing the program code, any previous access codes which were originally assigned to the lock OR added can still be used, for entry access! An intruder found the manual to one of our inside door locks and added in his own access code. Thinking he’d entered using one of the two assigned codes, I deleted them and replaced them with one brand new access code. However, the intruder was still able to enter, because he’d entered his own unique user code! I then changed the program code, but that does NOT delete any previous access codes, known or unknown. I happened to guess the access code the intruder programmed and deleted it. What I did not know until reading the manual was that you can DELETE ALL ACCESS CODES, which is the best practice to use, when changing the program code. Once that’s done, you can input any access code you wish, if you’re adding news ones or adding back old ones. But deleting all, will delete any access codes which you may have not been aware of.
I was given this lock as a gift and all of the information is very helpful and I'm much more confident installing this new device. Mostly about the prior access codes as this person used it for his father before passing. So, thank you all for the information and help keeping us safe. As a foot note, locks only keep out honest people.
Please show in detail how to take apart and put back together the lock. I finally figured out how to take it apart it now I can't figure out how to put back together
Jennifer, Thank you for reaching out to Schlage Support. I do apologize we do not recommend taking our locks apart. Can you please email us at consumer.schlage@allegion.com and provide the following information for us to further assist you referencing your case CAS3511566. - First and last name - email - good contact number - good physical address for shipping - What issue are you having with your lock? - photo interior side of lock (knob/lever as appears on door) - photo exterior/keypad side of lock (as appears on door) - photo of the programming sticker (located back of keypad or interior motor) - When was the last time the battery/batteries were changed? - What brand of batteries are used? - age of lock/when purchased (month/year)
Problem with this video is, if you forgpt your 4 digit code you cannot enter the 6 digit program code. When you enter the 4th dogot of program code the lock will not allow you to put final 2 digits in, as it's reading the code as the combo...which is only 4 digits long. So...HOW to get the lock to accept SIX digits???
Hi there. Thanks for reaching out. Please contact us at consumerschlage@allegion.com or call us at 888-805-9837 and we can troubleshoot with you. Thanks, Jenny.

Hello, I took over a townhome and a tenant has abandon the townhome . My problem is I don’t have the code to delete. How would I delete all codes. I don’t want to buy a new one because I can’t find one at Lowe’s. Please help
Hello, Thank you for reaching back out to Schlage Support! We would be happy to assist with this. There is a backup programming sticker on the lock itself, this is located on the back of the keypad against the outside of the door. The sticker will have the default User code A and B as well as the Programming Code. If you have any further questions or concerns please reach out to us at consumerschlage@allegion.com. -Alex
So I bought a house with this annoying lock installed on the front door.. I know the code but want to change it so no one else knows it. Unfortunately, I have to completely disassemble the entire assembly to access the programming code. Fantastic design! Wish I had the user manual, but the old owners of the house conveniently no longer have it. So here I am wondering if it's even worth it at this point..
Thank you for your comment! If the interior flex turn is set in the horizontal position then the exterior keypad will remain locked and auto-lock after a valid code is entered. If you have any other questions or require any further assistance, please call us at 888-805-9837 or email consumerschlage@allegion.com.
Hi there. Thanks for reaching out. You will either need to push the Schlage button and turn the thumbturn, or you can disable lock and leave and then a user code would be required to lock the door. See page 6 for info: www.schlage.com/content/dam/sch-us/documents/pdf/installation-manuals/P516-864.pdf Thanks, Jenny.
Hello, Thank you for reaching out! Unfortunately, the Touch series locks (models BE375 and FE695) are not smart locks so they are not compatible with any devices. If you are looking for a deadbolt model compatible with the Ring Alarm System the BE469ZP would be a good option, If you are looking for a device compatible with the Ring Doorbell the BE489WB model would work.
@@SchlageLocksOfficial awesome, thank you! Do you know if be489wb comes in any versions without a manual key access? I'd love a smart lock that works with ring that doesn't have a manual key override if possible!
Hello, Thank you for reaching out to Schlage. Yes, our keyless touch deadbolt can have up to 19 codes programmed at a time. Simply follow the directions in the video to add any additional codes needed. Thank you, Kat.
Hello, Thank you for reaching out to Schlage Support. You must know the code you wish to delete if using programming option 2, deleting code. One work around is deleting all codes from the lock then adding in the codes you want programmed in. To do this step you would, • Enter in your programming code • Press the Schlage logo • Press the number 6 • Enter in your programming code This will delete all codes including the two default codes. Then simply add new codes just like the video explained. If you have other questions, please email us at consumerschalge@allegion.com or give us a call at 888-805-9837, and we’ll be happy to help.
Hi William, thanks for your comment. This issue may be caused by the incorrect programming code being entered or the code being changed. To resolve this issue you may need to reset the lock to ensure the default programming code can be used. The programming sticker can be found on the user guide, and on the lock itself under the keypad side of the lock. The video in the link below may also help with the reset. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-70r6r0SMhjg.html&t=
Thank you for reaching out to Schlage support via RU-vid. Please contact us directly at 888-805-9837 or via email at Consumer.Schlage@allegion.com for further assistance.
Andrew, I am sorry to hear you are having issues programming your lock. we would recommend factory resetting and starting over with the programming process. Please contact us directly at 888-805-9837
Hi JONminiminiME, being unable to enter the 6 digit programming code may indicate the incorrect code being entered, and the lock may need to be reset. We would first recommend checking the programming sticker attached to the lock to confirm the correct code is being used, after that reset the lock and attempt to enter the programming code again.
Hello, Thank you for contacting Schlage. It sounds like the CAM was turning during installation, but we do have some trouble shooting steps to help resolve your issue. To Fix: 1. Open your door and extend the deadbolt. 2. Disconnect wires from the front keypad. 3. Remove the mounting bolts to take off the inside assembly from the door. 4. Rotate the driver bar toward the hinges to retract the bolt. 5. Reassemble the inside assembly. Make sure the mounting bolts remain uncovered. If they are not, repeat the 1st four steps. If the CAM is in the wrong position it will cover the mounting bolts. 6. Connect the wires from the keypad. To test: 1. With the door open and the bold retracted press, the outside Schlage logo. 2. Rotate the knob away from the hinges 3. The bolt should be extended. This is the 1-touch locking feature for this lock. This should fix all your issues with your lock. If you run into any further issues, please email us at consumerschlage@allegion.com or give us a call at 888-805-9837. Thank you, Kat.
To save you hours of headache: If you are trying to change programming code and it won't accept your current programming code, then you can easily reset to default programming code by unplugging the wire from the battery, then press the exterior schlage button to clear any additional memory cache, then press and hold the exterior schlage button as you reconnect the battery (you may have to do this twice if the default programming code doesn't work). Also note: the programming code can be found on the inside of the unit itself if you can't find where you placed it. Also, if you set up the app, and connect it to your door, the programming code will automatically no longer work. It assumes you can program everything on the app. You can reset following my instructions above if you want to remove the lock from all devices and erase everything from it's memory. Good luck🤞
Hello Trey, I am sorry you are having issues programming your lock. To resolve it, I recommend that you walk through a factory reset. I have linked those instructions below. This will reset the codes allowing you to enter the full programming code. Please let me know if you have any other questions. www.schlage.com/en/home/faq.html?id=128839
The programming sticker for the Touch series locks will be located on the user guide as well as on the back of the EXTERIOR keypad so the lock may need to be removed from the door if you no longer have the programming sticker off the user guide. If we can assist you with this model please reach out to us at 888-805-9837 or email consumerschlage@allegion.com.
Dude I’m only asking this because I’m tired of watching videos that really don’t show you how to install nor program “Schlage Touchscreen deadbolt” I think I need your guidance or the company needs to better teach everyone how to install and program.
Hi Jacob, this video is for the Schlage Touch (BE375), please see the video below for your Schlage Touchscreen Deadbolt with Alarm (BE469) and reach out with any questions! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-f0t9aPVjvVE.html
Thank you for reaching out to Schlage support via RU-vid. The locks programming sticker is located in two places (back of keypad side of lock against the door and user guide) the lock will have to be removed from the door to obtain the sticker from the keypad. If both stickers are lost or removed no way to obtain sticker. Only option would be purchase a new lock. For further troubleshooting please contact us directly at 888-805-9837.
