so this is gonna sound crazy but years ago when you were modding your mk4 golf I would watch your vids, I then forgot all about you until I thought of buying a civic si and remembered you had a Honda, glad I found ya again
No, all wrong. First: Big twin turbo Then, if it didn't melt already, an oil cooler Next, the clutch should be already cooked so new flywheel and clutch kit Finally if you didn't totaled it: wheels, tires, brakes and suspension. Now that's thrilling
Assuming your tires are reasonable, THE very first requirement of a production car is to sort the suspension. Any tyre that can generate higher lateral g force will deform the suspension, often to the point that the new tyres are destroyed on one edge (usually the outter) after only a very few laps.
Correct order: 1. Sell old car 2. Borrow as much money from as many sources as possible. 3. Buy Supercar (partly with finance if required). 4. Leave country with car before any repayments are required. 5. Go into hiding.
I Really like your videos about the car/parts/mods very helpful and informative!! Good job bro. Keep it up, hope u can help me for my 2008 stock civic fn2 type R, thank u!
great stuff once again! Where and how do you generally do research for all your cars? Just also want to say you taught me a lot on how to fix cars so much appreciated.
I do as much searching online through forums and RU-vid as possible. It is also helpful to consult with other owners who are interested/ have completed similar projects
I love this video and I already convinced myself to go this route but not as detailed. I am currently building a K20/k24 and putting it into my 91 integra. Thanks for this! I love all your videos as they are so helpful for something who is entry level at this
I have already used your excel sheet as a guide for a 300+ HP all motor building. I think I want to take it even higher. I already have my k20 Head ready for port and polish, and I just finished removing everything from the block. Now that this is done, I will focus on my suspension/ brakes/etc.
Question as a first time buyer I’m trying to see whether going with 09 Si vs Something like your 2014/15 Si, would make sense. What I want out of this build, it’s going to start life as a daily then after a year or So turn into my dedicated track build (K24A performance build) revisiting these videos cause they help me stay focused on my parts Bin notes 📝 yes writing everything down 😅😅 😊🙏🏿
I don't think they'll let you on for free, but it isn't too expensive if you're going for an open lapping event. The fancier the track, the more expensive the admission price is, however even if you go a couple times a year, it is a fun, safe, and awesome learning opportunity for you to get more familiar with your car!
i wanted to do poly bushings, i saw you dropped a link below, but energy suspension doesn’t make 2012 or newer kits, can anybody recommend where to get some next ?
@@milanmastracci lmk when the vid drops ! i just upgraded tires and rims and my cars like 10 years old and i wanted to do bushings next before power mods
I have a 15 civic si sedan just install my eibach sportline lowering springs wit truhart sport shocks/struts made for drops like 1-2 inch. Not sure why the front drop pretty low it scrubs my inner fender liner...driving it's ok but just turning...if i turn slow it's ok...ur opinion is appreciate thanks
Yeah my Skunk2 lowering springs do the same tbh. I'm going to be changing them out as I don't like how it rides. I think 2 inches is too much of a drop for these cars. Stock ride height isn't too pretty, so a 1" drop with springs or a complete swap to coilovers is the way to go IMO. Unfortunately there isn't anything we can do to make the ride less harsh with the setup we have.
Awesome Milan! Hey I was wondering if you run synth or mineral in your k24 civic? I have a 2009 Tsx which I fill with castrol gtx 5w20. Installing tein flex z and complete rebuild or front suspension, bushings and control arms, car is pretty rusty (quebec canada) peace !!!
Hey Louis, I think you're very much going to appreciate the next vide. I will be going over all of the fluids for this car and service items. I hear you with the rust. Canadian winters aren't gentle on cars and it sure shows after a couple years of use, hence why maintenance and upkeep is so important.
First for my 370Z I did the long tubes headers, exhaust and cold air intake with a tune with admin. Now I’m building the brake system and transmission on the top. I feel like it was missing little bit of spice in the engine bay. I also did tire first of all with larger ones. But your build diagram is very nice and accurate! You give me some futur mods that I didn’t thought.
Weight Saving . I understand the significant improvements gained through lighter wheels and tires. Unsprung weight and improved handling etc. How much weight do you think you saved on the Mini, with the removal of the interior trim ? Seems like minimal savings. Like removing tire valve stem caps and the shifter knob. Do you think the gains are worth the effort.
By just removing door panels, not too much weight is being shed, however when you change to aftermarket seats, you change steel hoods for carbon/fiberglass ones, you replace windows with Lexan, it does add up. For a daily driver, I wouldn't recommend it.
Hey bro I like all the advice you've given modifying your car I have a 91 Integra gs I would like to upgrade my suspensions can you get some advice unturned good suspension at a reasonable price for my 91 Integra
I've always had great results with BC racing coilovers. They are affordable coilovers, fully adjustable, they come with a warranty, and I've had no problems with any of mine, and I've had them on 3 of my cars. I can't say anything bad about them 👍
Totally well thought out and executed video with full documentation, with links to suppliers AND time links to selected clips within the video. I can’t imagine how much time, thought and effort went into this. Amazing work, Milan. Thank you SO much! 🙏👍🔧🧰🚗
Glad it was helpful! I spend a ton of time on my videos with the hopes of saving you guys a bunch of time and money. I'm happy to see it is being noticed 🙌
you actually help me decided what to do to my car, i was planning to buy the short shifter with bushings and springs and shifter but you convinced me to go separate my wheels and tires first then in the meantime i finish to pay them i got my short shifter and all the things,
You da'man! Great videos and guidance. I just got an 8th gen Si and looking at mods, so great food for thought on how to approach. Keep up the good work!
What brand is the tints on the rear windows? Because they started fading and turning purple. Manufacturers promise lifetime warranty most of the times but are they true to their words?
I wish I could tell you what brand it is, but I would be lying to you. I thought at first it was just me thinking the tint is different but I'm happy to hear you comment on it. I will be getting it fixed in the very near future 👍
@@milanmastracci I'm afraid that my tint will fade the same way as yours even though i chose a popular brand(not the most expensive) with many years in the industry...
I can't speak much of the tint that I have on my Civic, but the infrared ceramic tint that I have on my Accord still looks perfect with no fading, and keeps my interior temps down. That is what I will be putting on my Civic without a doubt 👍
