The damage on your Z can actually be repaired by you for the most part, I’ve fixed a few front ends and I can say you’re more mechanically inclined than me and you do seem like an engineering student idk why, least educated. Luckily your frame look straight and your core support is a bolt on. You don’t need a welder, if any metal needs pulling a body shop or a cheap 6-10k-lbs winch puller with some videos will teach you how to make pulls to adjust core support as needed. I estimate about $5k to get it back, you need a donor car for some parts, new mechanicals of course. Mainly fix it mechanically which I know you can and get the replacement core support front piece in place, which you maybe learn it isn’t too bad once you understand how it works. Air bags account for about half the estimate, if you can source those used cheap you control a good chunk of the cost. You replace it yourself, here I have locals that can do the seat belt and seats if that got deployed, then for programming a couple hundred. Your fender gaps seem well, driver side maybe buckled little bit, possibly can be fixed. You can upgrade hood, or replace and wrap to avoid repaint, you’ll need to repaint front bumper find a shop for that. You don’t have to take a $15k+ loss when damage in reality will cost a fraction of that plus your time and labor, worthy considering you’re playing w bout $10k+ for that work. Also you grow your skill set. You can also do the work and sell it simply, market a premium now and I hear last quarter 22 or early 23 chips be back market will start to adjust and you should be able to find a replacement for what you got for the Z, you need to wait the year for this if it end up being accurate.

I'm so sorry to see this and offer my heartfelt condolences, as a fellow Z owner. I live and work in the San Francisco bay area and we do have a problem with deer on the roads, especially at night. I'm going to remember this and drive more carefully on these rural roads at night.

Hello from Melbourne Australia, you are taken it well with all the shenanigan that occurred . Been following for some time and i hate to see that the Z is gone. Reason being that i like to emulate what you did to that machine. Maybe you remember that i had a G37 because love to do the same to my machine, however prices for all that special equipment cost a lot off penny’s here in my neck off the woods, like to see your new machine when you are able to , and see how that will look like. And yes the house like i said looks pretty smart and a damn good investment. I know is winter in your place, hope it is not to cold for you. I wish you all good luck with your plans . Hey Milaan I feel your pain I had a similar issues I lost my RSX and I had to sell it as is but I didn’t have my stock suspension but if I did I would had change it for my civic but glad you are okay cars are replacing not lives and always think positive.

Fun story: I was a mechanic way back in the day. This reminds me of a woman that came in one November complaining about "the smell" she got when running her heat. She had an early 90s ford explorer (fairly new at the time). We got it in and put it up on the lift to look at the heater box. We found the smell pretty quick.... Turned out she'd hit a deer a month and a half prior but hadn't seen any damage so she didn't tell anyone. We pulled what was left of an entire rear leg out from between the fire wall and back of the engine block. All I could think is thank god it had been a cold fall! That thing was NASTY. We didn't have to really fix anything so we didn't charge her for the removal, but we DID insist on taking it down the street to an automotive cleaners to have them pressure wash the engine bay before returning it to her. So don't worry, your blood and guts could have been a lot worse! We can deal with it. :) Great videos, great documentation. Keep up the good work.

Most states as long as insurance does not payout and total it it still has a clean title, give a little more detail on what is broken and if the frame is bent. good luck if frame is not bent might be easy to fix with the state of used cars at this time.

I did exactly the same thing almost literally, although I hit a tree. My loss was $17,000 also. My new Z is parked in the driveway.

Hey Bro glad everything is good! I feel like you got how insurance works kind of confused. This would have been a comprehensive claim. This wouldn’t have been rated as at-fault and your premiums wouldn’t have increased. Yes you would have paid your deductible but you would get your check. Yes it would always show up on your record but insurance companies cannot rate you as an at-fault for a comprehensive claim (which this is). Also regardless if you have a fleet policy, if your found at-fault (not in this case) only the vehicles you’re a listed driver on would go up and not the entire policy. Im an insurance broker in ontario btw.

Did you had your front crash bar remove before the accident . I don’t see your crash bar , maybe it would of help absorb some of the impact.

You can get the seatbelts rebuilt. Goonzquad often sends their damaged ones out, and you could even get the colour changed.

i was hit by a deer a few weeks ago. This is why i felt lucky it only hit my front fender and slid across the side. I know it would have been so much worse if it was a head on collision. Made me glad to have insurance.

Hang in there man. Honestly, I wouldn't get another z. Get a new Subaru sti or civic type r or Hyundai veloster N. It will change things up and get your mind back on track. Kinda expensive but. Or you can get my favorite, vw mk4 R32.
