How to remove a 97 astrovan water pump 

My many thanks to you, I replaced my water pump and thermostat with your video on my 1997 chevy astro and saved alot of money.I had to be tricky in getting the fan off, but found a way that worked perfect. Thank you for the videos and keep making them, because a person like me really needed it. By the way I'm a female, with 6 children so our van is important. May God BLess You with making more videos that make others very blessed by you.

Great video thank you. To get the fan loose I was able to wedge a flat head screwdriver in the small bolts around the nut and the screwdriver caught on the pulley to the top right. boom

Thanks Scotty I am a mobile detailer as well and rock with the 02 Astro. Van started Overheating I topped off and it came leaking out. I had just done a thermostat and upper hose job but skipped out on the lower rad hose and water pump and it came back to bite me in the ass. Had to cancel on a client. Fixing my leaky pump tomorrow

If you don't have an impact I'd recommend breaking the bolts loose while you have your belt on. Don't take them off all the way before you take your belt off, though. You could damage the bolts.

Word of advice, if you live in a cold region, consider a steam cleaner for the carpets with APC. Winters can can make customers pretty upset with the wet interior.

Oh sweet! I've been using the hose remover tool. I've been using it to clean my tobacco pips.

i just did my 92 a few weeks ago.. make sure you put some pipe dope on the bolts. i think some go into a water jacket and can leak by if you dont.

hello scotty i have a question i changed the thermostad and the temperature sensor. but the radiator is loosing water but no leaks from any hoses. any help thanks the gauge goes to normal temperature and then goes to quarter way. i fell very hot under the whell when im driving. thnks.

i'm having trouble removing the fan clutch, when i hit my wrench with a hammer the pulley spins and i cannot loosen the bolt. Is there anything i can do to keep the pulley from spinning?
