You know on the tensioner there is a slot to fit either a 3/8's or a 1/2" drive breaker bar to move it in the front. Makes it a whole lot easier. Almost all tensioner have it. Just a little square.

Sir I felt compelled to comment on this work of art. Hey man I'm being serious. There is so much freaking common sense being thrown around I had to make sure I didn't somehow slip into an alternate universe. The type of education that comes from someone navigating the usual missteps and bad habits that just seem to come natural for most of us diy mechanics is basically priceless. Not only do you explain why not to start stripping and destroying the surrounding parts when all of those little things begin to happen, you calmly just pass on the important things only learned through experience. You definitely have acquired a masters in problem solving. Your tone is one of certainty and confidence absent of the standard condescending tone that some qualified mechanics radiate. Like they are trying to remind you of how irresponsible it was to not actually listen in auto shop or to think far enough ahead to work towards that ASC certification that we quietly envy. Wow, I almost sound like I actually studied in those English classes. Haha. Serious though, I learned more from your video than I have from watching all of those DIY combined. Well played indeed!

Super helpful. I have a 2000 k3500 and this is the same set up as what you have. Looks doable! Thanks!

Haha I said same thing 20 years ago age 24 when some mechanic wanted to charge 600$ for a leaking distributor on a1988 Honda Prelude. Anyways, I thought "hey I'll get a Haynes manual and see why it's leaking. Turns out it was literally 3 bolts and a .25 cent rubber seal. After that I bought an 8 piece Craftsman socket/wrench set and never looked back lol

No special tools, I used my hands to push on the tensioner and replaced my belt

Most belt tensioners have a little square where a 3/8's ratchet will fit in it then just push down. Pretty simple.

Well dont assume the bolt in the back of the fan will work my bolts will not fit in from the back so that's not always an option

This was an absolute b!t(h to deal with when I tried the behind bolt method. This part I do not recommend. I got a bolt in and it did t hold and now it is bent, etc.

I have a 1999 Chevy Suburban with a code that pops up p0410, I changed the secondary air pump but it still reads the same. What do I do?

You give the gaskets a ‘ silicone paint job ‘. Not so that it needs it to seal but rather to help them come right off if you need to go there again someday

Will a water pump from a v6 Chevy motor fit a 2000 Silverado v8

hey this looks easy but when trying it I broke all the bolt holes in the fan sprocket out without getting the nut loose. I think I can get the pump off without taking the fan off, I will find out tomorrow.

you must have a lot of rust, or your turning them the wrong way. ha joke. yes it is possible to remove both. just not easier. i have another one coming up, i will do it that way and post a link for you. thanks for watching.

Didn't work for me. Screw is too short to catch water pump fins. Longer screws just bent.
