Doesn't the locking SHCS in the OD wheel locking nut throw the balance out? The wheel hub is balanced with the wheel, but not the SHCS in the nut. Of course, the locking nut has a "slot" cut into it to allow the SHCS to bind the threads, so does the locking nut/SHCS assembly balance itself out? Just curious!
That’s a great question but the amount of material removed plus the added weight of the SHCS would probably equal each other, plus it’s near the centre of the assembly, plus the hub has been balanced, that it doesn’t effect the finish. Thanks for the very thoughtful and intelligent question.
