A video tutorial on how to remove an interior door panel on a Volvo S60, S80 or V70 01-04. Erie Vo-Vo Used Volvo Parts. stores.ebay.com/used-volvo-parts
For a mechanic that does not have VIDA/manual, THE BEST to the point instructions. All I needed so I don't waste time searching for the secret screws that hold the panel in place. Thank you for your time. I have a regulator making noise, suspecting the epoxy that hold the glass to the regulator has gone bad and just needs to be redone. When I worked for Mercedes, I re-epoxied so many I can not even give an estimate. Saving the customer thousands of dollars. THANK you from one mechanic to another.!
I appreciate you posting this video! Thanks to you, I took the door panel off of my Cross Country, fixed the driver door handle cable, and reinstalled the door panel before my coffee got cold. And, i only lost one clip. That's kind of a record for me.
You probably just saved me $300. My inside driver's side door latch broke on me. With the help of your video, in 5 minutes I had the door panel off. To make it really simple, the cable for the door simply popped off (the clip was worn out a little). Simply clipped it back in, secured the housing with some duct tape and VOILA. Back in business. Another 5 minutes to put the door back together and all is good. Thanks SO MUCH for the video.
I rarely leave comments but this walk through was absolutely helpful in every way. My interior door handle/latch disconnected and I was forced into opening the door by sticking my hand though the window to the exterior handle (always waited until people werent watching). By removing this panel in two minutes, adding some tape to the latch assembly clip, the door was back to working order in 7 minutes. Thanks again my friend!
+Burl McBurl thansk for sharing. This is exactly my situation at the moment. I have to open my door from the outside - I make my kid do it for me, people must think he treats me like a king lol - i am going to try your fix for the latch assembly clip.
Thanks for this video. I was able to go into the passenger window and replace the track clips for my S60. It was one of the issues I had been struggling with after buying the car used. Now on to the issue not starting consistently.
Thank you very much, excellent presentation that accurately explains how simple the job is. My door is rear right but I can imagine the process is exactly the same, except for different shape of the door and placement of the parts.
Just about to go and fix my wife's door handle and I thought, maybe there's a video about how to take the door apart that would save me half a day. There was! Thanks uploader!
Thanks this was so informative and detailed ..I made the mistake of going to another video I found online and he dropped the door panel after 60 seconds of prying it loose. I ran back to your video. Because I do plan on reinstalling the panel back. 😂 Thanks again. #WindowRegulatorProblems
"Very informative and easy to follow video. did the job myself and saved money and fixed the problem. Thank you very much." .... My mate Deathwalker who owns an S60.
I really do appreciate you, help me through a very hard time ! You're very intelligent and very kind and soft spoken. thank you for your intelligence! Ms. Brenda
Thanks mate really big help ..I've not owned a posh car before with all hidden fixings and was loathe to cover the door panels in experimental spanner rash if you're ever in Burscough I'll buy you a pint
great perfect video. Fixed handle, cable, assembly in about 30 minutes, saved my wife $650, got good brownie points. THANK YOU, MAN. but I couldn't find door pin replacement, or whole handle assembly replacement parts at Erie, ?
Hey great video , i was wondering is it possible to push the middle of the rivets in too much ? Im having a really hard time popping the caps off that border the rear passenger door panel any advice ?
I appreciate you posting this very helpful and educational videos. My master switch on the driver door of a 03 s60 which controls Windows, locks, mirrors, everything on the switch won't work. I have power and grown at the switch, however, I tried bringing good grown and power to it just in case, no help. Please help me, these is driving me crazy, thanks in advance.
It is so simple that one has to be really dump idiot to destroy whole the panel, which is the case on my Volvo, bought second hand. The wooden-like part ripped and then fixed with glue...No comment . This was helpful thanks!
+erievolvoparts I have a broken handle (the one with 2 screws, used to close the door). can you tell me whether I can replace it alone (just detach it from the inner side of panel) or it is completely integrated with door panel?
A) This video was so helpful! Once I got the panel off, I saw the my sliding jaw regulators were busted. Easy fix :) B) Does anyone know what other name the half pins might be called? I realised that I'm missing some and wanted to order a few extra. Thank you!
Serious car repair shops use wide plastic paddles to remove plastic trim elements. Using a flat screwdriver like shown in the beginning will screw the look of your door handles if you are not lucky enough and some pin holds better than expected!
My door handle had more of an insert that could be removed with a screwdriver, rather than splitting like the one shown. Also it helps to use a nail or something similar to make sure the push pins go in far enough.
hi what is the part number for cable connectoror twiter connector. my door handle cabe broke the connector its plastic.oval shape plastic cover. thanksive a v70. 2004. THANKS
Looks a lot easier than my 300m! They don't make the cable/latch long enough.. so when you have the screws out.. and there's that gap between the panel and the door, well, Chrysler designed it so you have about 1.5" of clearance compared to what appears to be a solid 6" on this car. Oh and the push pins on the outside? Not on a Chrysler! Silly little screws which are too close to the edge of the panel and the panel breaks in several spots because of that. It sucks hardcore. /ChryslerRant
I'll try this, my window elevator, electric lock and the mirror control have don't work. I'm guessing the pins are not plugged in because there goes power to the actual door just that the controls doesn't work..
Louie Malvessi Music Nope, not yet anyway, however I did open the door panel but only to find that they were plugged in, so it is a much more complex problem, at least in my case. If it is that they are not plugged in your case, it looked easy to connect them, but they might not solve the issue.
Thanks for responding. I actually opened my door panel too a couple of days ago and found the switch completely disconnected. I connected, cleaned to contacts that come form the car to the door and voilá. It looks like you have a faulty door module. Try and get it out of the door, its secured with one screw. After that, there are quite a number of posts describing how to clean the module. I hope u hav some luck!
