In this video I will show you how to replace the wiper arm on an Audi A4 Advant the hard way! This will be similar for various makes and models. Music: Keep the Pace - Gunnar Olsen
This is exactly the issue I have! Going fetch a cutting tool immediately... editing the post now that I finished. All it took was penetrating oil and it came right off. Thank you! This was for my 2004 Toyota Sienna rear wiper arm.
Thanks for this. I had to replace the rear wiper arm on our C2. As I live in Finland, it had ten years of heavy road salt to contend with. I first removed the old arm by snapping the plastic and then used a wrench to hold the aluminium insert while I loosened the (very corroded) nut. To get the insert off, I used a nut splitter with a flat blade - even before it had cut all the way through, it had deformed insert to the point that the corrosion just snapped loose and I could wiggle it off with a screwdriver.
I've just replaced the wiper arm on my 2002 Audi A4 Avant using what you've shown us here, and all for the princely sum of £5.59. Top advice, thank you!
Great video! I have different car, but they are all exactly the same with respect to the rear wiper mechanism. Same thing, the aluminum ring was welded to the metal underneath and had to grind on one side and then it was easy to separate using pliers. Many thanks. Your video was a good confirmation to what I thought was the case.
Very helpful indeed! I was searching a while to find exactly THIS. The video quality (sharpness) leaves somewhat to be desired, but the explanation was good. Thanks!
I did my fix today on a 14 sq5 rear wiper arm, I used a hack saw for the whole job firstly cutting through the plastic arm then I did two more cuts through the aluminium nut which was tapered and eventually fell of.. pretty easy just don't saw into the bolt thread
If you have the space and a willing family buy something cheap and start taking it apart and putting it back together it'll help so much. Also boring safety first comment, be super careful when jacking/supporting the car and the likes and taking bits off. What first car would you be after dude?
oh yes my corsa has the same problem, now i am going to cut the thing off ith a hacksaw, my new wiper arm and blade will be hear Monday or Tuesday. thanks mate i nearly whent and spent money on a puler
I kinda have the same issue but not sure if it’s the wiper arm or the wiper motor. How can I tell if it’s just the arm or the motor? When I turn on my back wiper it goes clockwise down towards the bumper and not anti clockwise over the windscreen. Can anyone give me some advice?
If it was possible it would of been done. I did not have the right size pulled (to big or small) and it's a part that needed to be cut off due to the corrosion.
