I'm two years late to the party, but this just happened to me yesterday. I was a little nervous about how to proceed. This trick looks so simple. I watched two other videos besides this one and they all recommend the same thing. Thanks!!
Thanks, Joe! I had no idea they were making those out of plastic. I was hooking up a DVD player with brand new AV cables and the raggedy thing broke off in there! But the nail WORKS.
For anyone trying this, I would recommend using a straightened fish hook instead of a nail. The small gauge will minimize any outward pressure and the barb will 100% hook on the first attempt.
🎉You’re a life saver, was about to take my speaker to a shop where they were gonna charge $160 to replace the rca jack… and take 3-4weeks with their back log of repairs, found the right sized nail and it worked like a charm first try, thank you for the post, I’m sure you’ve saved 1,000s of people time and money with your post, I hope all is well for you, thanks a million, take care ❤
I actually watched your video, looked around the house for a small nail, couldn’t find one but found a really small screw and screwed it in pulling it out very easily,Perfect! Cheers, great video
Saw this video when I broke my rca, told my self I’ll come back when I put my system in my new car. The time came and this technique worked like butter! Wasn’t trying to dismount the amp, and open it.
Hey thank you so much man!! I just got two prongs out from my broken PS2 cord! (Yes a PS2 in 2022. Lol) Totally works, I got both out first try. Thanks for the info man, fixed in less than 5 minutes. 👍🏿
Wow. Thanks for the idea dude. In my case it is broken small and deep inside. I heated a safety pin and chucked it in, it melted the plastic around and stuck tight to safety pin and I easily removed it. Before I tried to super glue a stick and pull it it didn't work then I saw your video.
Wow thanks man never thought this would work but it did. I’m sooo stoked wow. Thanks ! I used a sewing needle and a lighter and a pair of tweezers to hold the needle in. Wow. I feel like Einstein
I used a heated a small screw and after placing screwed the hot screw very little ie less than quarter circle. Waited for few seconds and easily pulled out the broken pin. Thanks
Well I'll be damned. It really worked. You deserve the like, I wish I could give more! I'll have the wife hunt down a bottle of Sweet Baby Ray's as tribute.
