Great tip! Saved me a broken chain case cover trying to figure it out myself. I have a 2017 Switchback assault. Not sure if the previous owner did it or not, but I actually had torx head bolts where you had rivets to drill out. I was able to remove those without having to drill anything.
Great to hear! I had two torx bolts but wasn’t able to get a good grip on it so I removed the rivet as well. Then it was easy to pull the tub out of the way. The stupid ass chaincase cover arrangement is my least favorite part of the sled.
You just use two pry bars or larger flat head screw drivers to get behind the rotor and work it off by prying on it. The service manual describes using the same method. Mine didn’t take a lot of force, just need to overcome the stiction of the o-ring and it slides off.
@@thatalaskaguy that bearing retainer behind clutch is only thing holding it in after the brake disc is removed. it will slide right out. push it in the chaincase just enough to get cover off. remove secondary clutch bolt first while you can still hold the brake
@@123devinzz1 that sounds like a faster and better way to do it, thanks! I did a search and watched videos and nobody had mentioned sliding the jack shaft over.
