you sir saved me a good amount of money teaching me to repair this my self THANK YOU!!!! so everyone is aware be careful removing some of these clips they get brittle
Push down and hold the wired clip on wire harness at back of the intake. This will take the wire away from plastic locker pins. While holding clip down wiggle Connecter and gradually begin to start pulling the harness at the plastic until the harness connection separates. Installation is easy, just plug in the connectors ends together.
Oil on the plug boot. that means you need to pull that valve cover and replace the gaskets on that too. Im about to do the same job in a few days. Good thing is that you can do it all at the same time, plugs and gaskets. Save a load of work later taking that intake off and putting it back. just wish the damn valve cover gaskets didnt cost $100 bucks. tempted to just RTV it.
The clip u pulled out with the screwdriver didn't need to be removed it is a squeeze clip. The side that has the bar across it, just push it in and pull plug back
LOL worth paying someone $250 to do this. The more you start pulling things off in a 180,000 mile old engine, the more stuff you end up replacing. BTW, that motor looks nice and clean!
Working on cars is relaxing to me as well, just not when hoses crack and other stuff breaks taking a manifold out. Good video, glad you posted it. Good stuff man.
Great video, meticulous and detailed, BUT, that metal clip holding the harness to the sensor was not meant to be removed like that to remove the harness, It was supposed to the squeezed down first then pull on the harness while squeezing it down. The harness is then easily pulled out, the metal spring remained in place
I'm doing this for a good friend in the next cpl days and your video was very helpful. Thanks for sharing your experience. Wondering if you changed gaskets out, and just a heads up here, you need not remove those horseshoe pins from the electrical connectors. Just push from the top and pull on wires!
excellent vid. I've done this job & doing it again soon on the same van. still running good just have an intake gasket vacuum leak so changing the plugs, wires, valve cover gaskets while I'm in there.
@@diversity2739 probably not. I don't have a nice camera, plus will be doing it short on time so I can use it for work. I don't think its needed because already a few DIY vids of it. vids like yours helping a lot of people.
