In this video I demonstrate How To Remove & Replace a Plastic Soft Close Toilet Seat quickly and easily. This Toilet seat has a quick release feature so that the lid can be removed for cleaning around the hinges. The fixing of this kind of seat can also be applied to Toilets that have no access to the bolts underneath and can be installed from the top.

I've changed toilet seats before, but was not familiar with the quick release. I struggled to figure out how to get to the nuts. I saw the button under the seat but couldn't push it, so was unsure if it did anything. Watched your vid. Now, knowing the button should activate the quick release I pushed in with a screw driver. From there it was smooth sailing. I just goes to prove - if you know what you are doing it usually is pretty easy. It comes down to - how things work. For these kinds of home repairs, RU-vid is genius, because it brings experts into our homes to hold our hands and walk us through the steps, fixing daily problems.

A great video Phil in as much as it's so practical . My dad was a plumber and used to love going round on jobs in the school holidays .Learned a lot too .:) Have a great weekend ..👍 Helena

Thank you Helena 🙂 It needed doing so I thought why not make a video out of it seeing as it's so cold at the moment I don't feel like doing much outside. I do plan on making a bird feeder and bird table soon when it warms up a bit. 🐦

@@PhillWyattProjects carpentry is not my skill and so far have found none who could make the sparrow terrace . So plan B is get a huge rhododendron bush on my balcony they get shelter and have seen how they enjoy .Your video today was great ..Have a good weekend .Helena

Thanks Helena 🙂 that sounds like a good idea they love hiding in bushes they do it a lot in my dad's garden popping out to get food then flying back into the bushes for cover.

@@PhillWyattProjects Oddly enjoy I saved a fortune when I had a house in UK thanks to what I had learned .Every other summer would paint the entire house and wow it had loads of windows ,Each year did the gutters .Thank heaven here I don't have to do that as it is done since I live on the 5th floor :) Thanks Phil .

I am not sure my one is a bottom fix hinge (i.e. fitting two bolts down into the pan and then tightening them from underneath) Can I use this quick release soft close toilet seat? Thank you.
