This shear bolts are a lot of fun to remove .....I got new ones and also use high strength threadlocker as it will make it impossible to remove them without the special tool ( i have it ) . Should be a great way to make removal difficult to people’s that shouldn’t remove them ....
My T3 that haven't been used for 17 years so i think it is the reason for the fan to stuck....hoped it would start working from bumpy roads but no luck with that theory yet....tihnk i have to take the fan from my spare transporter and change before the winter. found this video while mentally preparing for the job.
@@Italjohn yes of course! I have unplugged ground cable so it won't pop if my wife turns it on by accident. When I have fan on and fast touch ground towards a screw or something with contact it just sparks
Wasn't so big job as i first thought. 1hour out and maybe 2-3 hours putting it all back again. The reason the old fan wasn't working was that the 17 years it has not been in use made the grease in bearings so thick that it had not enough torque to start spinning. got the old fan to work by helping it with the hand but throw it away after testing it and put in a new fan.
Hi friend. I have made the fan change following your video. I have installed the heating but it does not heat. Do you have to bleed the cooling circuit? thanks
When I was a child, my family punish me because every time they've buy me car toys, planes and so on, I did open them to see what's inside, how they work, but most of the the time I did not put them back together. That being said, I'm not sure about taking down my van dashboard ! 😁
I will embark on the dismantling but with the fear of not succeeding! 🤪 There are several things: First of all the liquid, what is the air box? Then I will install a PW control, do you have to keep the original resistance?
No, you don't need the resistor, but it's not in the way so I just bypassed it. The water is the coolant from the engine, and is used to heat the inside of the car.
Previously a few years back I took out that flat metal sheet with holes in it behind the heater core. It doesn't show in the Bentley manual. Do you know what difference it makes? I'm putting it back in, so it's not just floating around the shop, since I'm installing a new core right now.
