DO NOT try this method if your Fusion is a 2013 model. The two mounting clips toward the rear of the car are different than what's shown in this video. They are thin plastic and molded with the whole unit. They first have to be disengaged from the black plastic mounting shell that's part of the headliner before pulling down. Otherwise, you WILL break either the clips, or worse, the headliner mounting shell. It would've been nice if Nick had told us WHAT YEAR his Fusion is. Also, it's called an Overhead Console.
We've got a '14 with the sunglass pocket broken so I'll be looking into 'fixing' this pretty soon. Do you know if this design with the '13 models was definitely changed before '14 ? I do see that Ford superseded the original p/n with an updated p/n.
You are 100% correct! Wish I saw you comment before I broke the clips on my 2013 fusion. I realize now that they can be disengaged by reaching a finger through the sunglass holder when it is folded down. The part seems to be holding fine even though these 2 clips are now broken.
If anyone else here is trying to get rid of a rattling coming from the overhead console I removed the black plastic piece with the metal clips attached to the microphone wire and reinstalled with the remaining 4 clips, still solid mounting
i dont mean to be so offtopic but does any of you know a way to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly lost my login password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me!
@Terry Esteban I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
