How To Renovate Larger Lawns

This lawn was huge. We ended up using 75 bags of compost to dress the lawn at the end.
This was a brand new customer. I wanted it to go as well as possible (like all our lawns), and so I had to have faith in our pricing structure which has taken us years to get right. If I had gotten this wrong we could have been out of pocket.
Thankfully I was spot on!

Thats my average lawn renovation! Feel my pain Shaun! 2 or 3 or 4 days of physical work, 1 day of equipment maintenance, 1000 to 2000 lbs of debris. Love every minute of it!! Cheers.

I've made a deal with a local robin. He sits and watches me scarify and aerate, then I go and make some lunch and leave him to have his fill of bugs for his dinner and moss for his nest. In return he seems to leave the seeds alone.😂 I swear the same one keeps coming back every year. If i stick my garden fork in the ground he will actually sit on the handle and watch me work.

You work very hard Shaun, just like my Husband Neill with his mobile valeting business. You both do very physical work. Ask your Wife to go with you occasionally and do the Admin, such as answering your phone, managing your diary, she would enjoy watching you and supporting you 😉 I do this for Neill occasionally. Could your foot pain possibly be Plantar Fasciitis? Xx

I did an over seed and top dress today. I used Miracle Gro all purpose compost in a roller but it was SOOO fiborous that only about 70% comes out of the roller. What brand do you use and would it be better to use top soil instead? Also a crazy idea, why not mix the seed into soil in the compost roller so you do two steps in one? And even more crazy, you could pre germinate the seed and mix with soil in the compost spread, do you reckon this could work? Perhaps the next video for you!?!?!
@LawnRight

Hi Shaun, obviously there is a lot of money in labour and materials in a big lawn renovation like this. If their is a dry spell is the onus on the customer to ensure the renovation is watered regularly as advised by yourself, or is this your responsibility too?
@LawnRight
@LawnRight 4 месяца назад
Hi it's the owners responsibility. I'm very much matter of fact when I explain how much is needed. If they don't water enough I won't fix it free.. Problem is what they say and do are 2 different things.

@@LawnRight Ha ha, yeh I bet it is! It takes a fair bit of commitment to have a gleaming lawn. However, if I was investing the amount to do this job, I'd need to be fully committed and be available to water as required! Great job mate! Thanks for replying.

Watching this makes me want to renovate my own lawn. Would it be too difficult to hand scarify a lawn half that size with a wolf garten scarifier. I'm not sure about investing £150 into a budget scarifier as I might probably only use it once. If I buy the scarifier head maybe I'll buy a few other heads for breaking up soil in the garden
@LawnRight
@LawnRight 4 месяца назад
Hi ill be honest it's doable but will need a tonne of patience. I wouldn't fancy it myself.. You will probably be able to hire a professional scarifier for a similar price if it's a on off and it'll be so much faster. £67 to hire on this website www.wekanhire.org/tool-plant-hire/gardening-equipment/
